Other, financially more stable airlines feel threatened and match or undercut your prices.
Hence, after only six years of existence, you have to sell out. In this case, ironically enough, to a former friend to whom you wanted to show that your business and company model can indeed work.
Unwillingly, your legacy lives on, at least...

...until the next rebranding.

Normally, a 727 doesn't care who it flies for, as long as it still has available cycles on the clock. That is, if a terminal doesn't get in its way and spells its early doom.
