An Airman's lost letters...

Hi Ted,

Nice find, I wonder how much of our history is thrown away like this? A good friend of mine was helping his wifes family clean out the house of there recently deceased father, Tim was looking through some plastic garbage bags of stuff that had been placed on the front verge ready for the garbage collection the next day.

In one of the bags in a carboard box he found his father-inlaws military service records and his campaign medals, including one for the seige of Trobruk. the whole lot had been placed inadvertantly in the rubbish becuase the box wasnt checked properly.

As like the letters in your link if it hadnt been for a lucky find this information and memorabelia would have been lost forever.

I look forward to reading the rest of the letters as they post them on their site.

regards Rob.

No doubt. Excellent find shredder! I've got the site bookmarked and look forward to reading actual accounts instead of after the fact ones.
