Not being a gaugemaker, I simply use default gauges in my FSDS models. Is there a way to have backlit gauges? Of course, being an idiot, i am looking for an idiot's giude to backlit gauges.
Thank you for your responses.

This tutorial is for gmax but the sim and makemdl requirements are the same.

Since you already have a VC knowledge, adding the night lighting is pretty simple.

It requires that you add a self illumination texture to the $vcxxx, and provide a light map (xxx_L.bmp) of the same name as the vc texture.
The light map texture can be any size (power of 2 and same aspect ratio as the main bmp), can be as simple as a gray bmp, but if detailed, must be inverted vertically, and be placed in the texture folder.

Just scroll down to the night lighting section of my tutorial.

EDIT: And just to be clear, bmps must be power of 2 (1024x1024, 1024x512, 512x512, 1024x256, etc.) They do NOT have to be square. Use of largest possible size for best resolution.
