There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The USA is never selected as the best country to live in, in recent years. This is according to many publications including Forbes, the Examiner, the Economist, and the Human Development Index among a plethora of other examples.
The USA is an empire in decline. And all the trillions spent on propping up corrupt corporations and a lifeblood sapping military industrial complex will not, and cannot, change this fact.

yup surveys are never correctThere are a lot of places where I could be happy living. Especially if they speak English. My French, Spanish and all the above go from a high of Sucks!, to a low of non-existent.
However, I moved to Lafayette twenty-three years ago and fell in love with the place. Sometimes, I wish it wasn't so dang hot and humid or, we had more streets to handle to traffic flow. Other than that is a wonderful place to live.
Keep your surveys, I am happy here and I don't plan on moving.![]()
The data is older than it appears and the whole ranking is based on the HDI:

Basically, this thing is a wholly objective ranking.
