ANF_Les_Mureaux_117_with_skins.zip weapons problem

jinx

charter member past
I installed baldy's ANF_Les_Mureaux_117_with_skins.zip.
Excellent a/c, and one of which I had made a model in 72nd scale from the Heller plastic kit. The model had won me first prize in the IPMS-Greece national contest and I remember I had used articles from the magazine LE FANATIQUE DE L' AVIATION, an excellent French magazine that is devoted mainly to a/c up to 1938 or so.

One problem I have is the weapons, as the bombs show but do not drop.

Can anyone help please?

Nick

PS. I may do a repaint of this.

Can you send a copy from the Weapons section of your DP file?
Copy all sections from the Guns part to the end of the Payloads list

Gaucho,

You can find it here, in the French aircraft section, where there is also the 115, an earlier version.

It is not as quaint as you think--it is a parasol of the 30's, like many of its era. The Lysander, the Boeing of the USN etc were also parasols. These also include the Dewoitine D.373 and these civil types:

LUTON MINOR
PHOENIX PA4A MINOR
PHOENIX PA5A MAJOR
REPULOGPEGYAR LEVENTE II
S-4 KANIA 2
THE TERMITE
WOODS WOODY PUSHER

The PT-12 also one, if I am not mistaken....

Long ago I made made a plastic kit of this from the Heller 1/72nd scale model and had won first prize with it in the IPMS-Greece national contest. Research ten had revealed that the interior walls of the cockpit spaces were a dark blue, as per the French Air Force orders of the time.

I will be doing a repaint or two of the Mureaux 117 and 115. They took part in the Battle of France, and all Francophiles know it. You must also remember that the French a/c industry was a great one in the early 1930's and many British designs were influenced by it. A couple of famous Luftwaffe warplanes were also parasols and saw action in WWII....

ANF Les Mureaux was the merger of two French aerospace companies: Ateliers de Constructions du Nord de la France (ANF) and Ateliers des Mureaux. The first aircraft built by ANF Les Mureaux were the ANF Les Mureaux 110 and 111, both reconnaissance aircraft. There followed the 115 and 117.

Anf 117

Hi jinx

just passing and noticed interest in my old stuff -- on the principle of checking the simplest first -- your dp data looks the same as mine and mine works so -- have you assigned a key in - settings - controller assignments - cycle ordnance selection ( for both keyboard and joystick ) because altho there is only one weapon selection you still got to do it -- forgive me if I am stating the obvious but it is all I can think of

good luck with the repaints, I shall look out for them

baldy

Thanks

Baldy,

Thanks for the help. I checked that and it does work. I had had the assignments ok, I just did not press the stick button hard enough and bombs did not go off. I pressed harder and bombs go off.

Re the repaints, these I will have to give up after two days of work as one fuse side cannot be repainted for some odd reason and in one of the texture folders one fuse side is duplicated in many bmp's, each with a different name.
These are named
fusR_filtered.jpg
fusL_filtered.jpg
wingLT_filtered.jpg
wingRT_filtered.jpg

I repainted two textures:
0fusL.bmp
0fusR.bmp

but one side still shows with un unrepainted texture--even after I put the repainted texure in there...

Further, I do not see what those jpg textures are there for. They are only in the texture.2 folder and not in the other texture folders. I have never seen this phenomenon with textures folders before, but there is always a first time, isn't there.

I wonder if we can contact the person who made the original and ask him about all this.

ANF 117 repaint

Hi jinx

I've had a look in the downloaded folders and I see what the problem is -- texture 2 folder contains some files that Mercure produced when he was working on his skins and these do not form part of the final texture. The solution is to use a copy of texture or texture.1 folder to do a repaint. Texture is my original rough job ( I never claimed to be a skinner ) texture.1 is Mercure's better job.

Hope this helps

baldy

I dowloaded it and started repaints...

A very interesting model... Thank you for re-introducing it...
Pity the cockpits are empty... btw... how do you put a pilot in it?

I think I saw a file with that name in my download

I am going to check my download.... I think I saw the name......
at any rate a very nice little model...

G.

Quaint means ATRACTIVELY UNUSUAL or OLD FASHIONED!!

what did you think I meant by quaint...???

Today... it indeed is quaint... i.e.: it does not mean UNUSUAL per se
it means ATRACTIVELY unusual...
Of course there were a lot of parasol winged aircraft... the Piper Cub is just one of them...
but it surely it does not qualify as "quaint"....
The JU-87 StuermKaemper... is quaint... the Vought Corsair is not...... too business like...
they are both inverted gull winged aircraft... but I couldn't call the Corsair quaint...
Just a clarification...
Cheers,
G.

One more question, please...

hi gaucho

the crew are a function of the dp file but you have to have the crew files from www.mwgfx.co.uk in the cfs2 /fs2002 section under 'extras'

baldy

Is there a way to do the same for crew re: FS9... the model shows and flies very well in FS9... but again... no pilot or gunner...
Please advise... many thanks in advance...
G.

Gaucho,

:wavey:Your repaints look nice, though they maybe fictional--not seen any like that in profiles.

In fact I am doing my repaint for fs9 , mainly to test it there, as I can use Autopilot and save flights to restart each time to test it. I modded the panel for fs9 with AP and modern radios for that and will upload that panel in the fs9 section.

It proably flies in fsx also, so I may do the same for fsx.

My repaint is an a/c that belongs to GOA 551.

:very_drunk:

Nick

crew

what you need is the SpitPack addon library and the RAF gunner ( from the extras ) just follow the instructions.

cheers

baldy

ps this only works for cfs2

Did you ever see this?

Re: " Your repaints look nice, though they maybe fictional--not seen any like that in profiles."

Actually, this is ONE repaint.... the others I have no posted at all...

My repaint was inspired by the profile below...

Nonetheless... two things are my dictum: Gaucho, don't put your faith in profiles... they are sometimes not really all that exact....
trust only photographs... (and the ones for this period are usually black and white... so one is at the mercy of painters whims or
misconceptions)....and secondly... Gaucho, never say that because you have never seen something that it is a fiction of someone's imagination...

and for those people who count rivets and color chips... weather, wear and oxidation change colors.... I was in the war in Viet Nam
and although all aircraft wore the same camouflage ... not two of them were the same in terms of hue, shades or saturation...
even though they all started the same out of the factory.... just like cars...
if you park them in the garage they keep a certain bright color... but if you park them outside all the time... the elements change
things... and the cars fade... at different rates depending on what the climatic conditions are...

Gaucho.

You are right, of course, in what you say about profiles.
And some of us who have done plasitc kit models know of the "scale effect". That is painting some shades lighter than the orginal color totake into consideration the small scale of the model kit. In fs skins, the same scale effect can be applied in various ways-the usual example is if something is black, one paints it a couple of shades lighter, if white, a couple of shades darker.
One interesting way to obtain an overall scale effect is to do a very opaque new layer over the whole texture, something like 5-10% of opacity in Photoshop brush settings, and cover all the texture with it. And do the same with all the textures within the texture folder. Then you can adjust the whole layer opacity further... and lessen it down to 2-3 %, test, see how it looks, and readjust it up or down till you get what pleases you...

One more thing is that the rear face of the prop blades was black in many of the ANF 115's and 117's. You may want to paint them black.

I have seen that profile you posted and of course the fuselage sides are different in your repaint, but that is your choice and to be respected.

Francois,

Merci pour le dp --je vais l'essayer ce soir.

I attach a screenshot of the repaint I am making, an a/c of GOA 551.
It will soon be uploaded--I still have to do the exhaust stains on the port side and on the belly and some soot and oil stains behind the radiator. I have finished chipped paint on the wing and stab overs...

My repaint is not fictional.

Nick

Francois,

I Installed the dp and all is fine.
I only have the gunner and not the pilot in front. I got an error message too about that.

Where can I get the pilot?
