Announcing my retirement

Kick back and enjoy yourself! :friday:

When you do come out of retirement only do two or three different jobs at a time, then things hopefully won't get stale.

Looking forward to you first complete aircraft1

Happy retirement.

Have a nice (but please, only temporary) retirement.
I know what you mean about not flying missions etc. Other than flying some of Rami's Deep War missions, I haven't done much more than fly whatever I'm working on, check it from all views and bin out to make adjustments (sometimes I just check it on the Freeflight menu without starting it up!!), not that I mind, but you do get to thinking about maybe blowing some enemies to kingdom come.
I look forward to your first "All-Obio" aircraft, I'm sure that it will be superb.

Safe flying, my friend.

I'M ADDICTED TO PAINT FUMES!

I can't stay away from Photoshop and have just taken a plane into it to reskin. I think the only way I can actually steer clear of skinning is if I unistall my Photoshops (5.0 and 7.0). Then I will have to follow suit by uninstalling my panel programs, uninstall Air Wrench and Air Ed, uninstall DXTbmp, MDLcolor and MDLmaterial.

I'm hopeless and helpless.

Right! As this is the case Tim, work on THIS one only until it is finished :gossip:

Hey, Buddy ... I know about the "addiction" part. I don't fly as much as I used to because I'm forever screwing around with skins, dp's and stuff like that ... "futsy" stuff that really doesn't have to be done ... but I just gotta' do it. (Like just how the tires sit on the runway ... not down to the hubs and not just off the ground ... they have to be "just right" ... you know, just a tad of "flatness" that simulates the weight of the aircraft.)

What I found that works is to block out some amount of time (you set the parameters) and during that time ... you just fly ... a campaign ... particular missions ... whatever. It's worked for me and this way I get the best of both worlds and don't lose the "edge" that you have to keep sharpened in both arenas (sp?).

Give it a try ... I KNOW you have the discipline to make this work ... you've shown that over the last year.

God Bless and Cheers!

I think it would be a fine gesture of heart-felt gratitude if you were to adopt the _OH SBD gear debacle for Bill.

Welcome back.

Better not remove them as you will need them all for your first design!

OK, so I was going to congratulate you for getting your ADHD under control.:Banane36: But, they say all you can do is treat it. :Banane25: It is amazing, however, how creative some of us :censored:r's can be! :Banane40: Welcome back to the brotherhood!

Don't worry pal!

OBIO

Hey, Obio just to let you know you're in good company: I've had CFS2 since 2001 and I completed only two campaigns. The first time around the stock US-Navy, and a Battle of Britain converted from CFS1, period.

In the meantime I learned how to tweak dp's, add exh effects, paint prop textures and, above all, keep adding new things to CFS2, expand it and fine tune it. I've been doing only short test flights to check things for the last five years at least, while I begun at least 10 campaigns and flew one or two missions each at the most.

So don't worry, relax and do what you feel most at the moment, it's all about CFS2 and WWII aviation anyway!

One word of advice: it's rather easy finding used hardware, get yourself three or four HDD for a handful of bucks, put them into an external HDD USB case and replicate all you did several times. It's the only way to avoid work loss through HDD crashes, there are quite a few good utilities from HDD manufacturers, like Maxtor for ex., out there to perform disk-to-disk quick copy operations through USB connections. This is what I did in order to avoid possible suicidal tendencies for having lost hundreds (it should spell years) of hours after CFS2. I've got four specular CFS2 copies and three copies of everything I downloaded. Burning DVD's is good as well, but it takes longer.

Thank you for all the work you did for CFS2, my friend!

Cheers!
