Yes, you are right.

I do most of my replies from my pc here at work, away from my CFS2 dedicated machine. So I often speak off the top of my ageing head. When I was able to download from BR2 website I could not use a wide-band connection, so I had to limit my greed....:biggrin-new:

Thank you for sending BR2's G-Max AVG P-40s to NoDice! Now I can complete my BR2 collection and fly the great AVG campaigns posted here at SOH with a complete BR2 AVG squadron! :running:

Cheers!

Kelti,

I am in the process of of changing the AVG Campaign and using the BR P-40B in it. The player flight squadron will have the different planes for that squadron. I have 15 missions done so far.

I'm doing this since the Lindsay P-40b and e models are no longer available

Very nice!

That's great Talon! :encouragement:

BR2's Gmax P-40Bs dressed in AVG colours offer a great framerate. I also like a lot Bruce Thorson's P-40B worked over by Bearcat241 with Old Wheat's multi-res mdl, but it's a tad fps heavier than BR2's model. While I found out that Lindsay's model is the one with the worst fps performance, at least on my ageing rig.

Unfortunately, we still do not have access to all the skins painted for the Gmax model by BR2. The latest upload by Bub at The Free Flight site provided the entire AVG fleet of the older model and only 4 of the Gmax ones. In the Gmax model readme, BR2 states that they produced 7 Gmax AVG aircrafts, so we are still missing 3.

I anyone reads this thread and has the remaining three BR2's AVG Gmax models still missing, please, send them to NoDice at the above e-mail address for posting the complete Gmax AVG Knifemaker's Collection over at The Free Flight website.

We'd be all very grateful for it. :adoration:

Cheers!

I'm also going to extend the Campaign,it now ends May 4,1942,till July 1942. It will take awhile because of some of the missions I have to do will be difficult to get to work right. Some are ground attack in a Valley.

We are all standing by, looking forward to savouring your update, Talon! :adoration:

Thank you very much for deciding to get involved with CFS2 PTO campaigns once again!

Yes

The Flying Tigers.

That is one Campaign I can't wait to have an update for.

Third Favorite theater of operation. WWI, Korea, AVG. in that order.

Then it would have to go the North African Desert. My Grand Fathers fought in that one. He was a tanker. His group was caught in a sandstorm. They found them a few days later. He almost died of dehydration.

My other Grand Father (my moms dad) was on the North Atlantic Convoyes. before we stopped the wolf packs. He did 3 complete crossings. Doesn't talk about it much. Then he went into the Airforce till just before Korea.

So yeah. bring it on Talon. I love the P-40s.

Kelti,
If memory serves me correct, a short time prior to Bruno "closing up shop", he was gracious enough to send me a password and I downloaded all the AVG P-40's, along with a couple of other things. So, I don't know what others there could be out there. I remember some of his aircraft were on the current and old Simviation site, but not sure which one's. Wish I could be more helpful, but its been a while since I looked for anything done by him.

Hi Bub!

The only AVG P-40B made by BR2, available over at Simviation, is the old model. I believe SCASM-made, but do not quote me on this.

Thanks to your generous help all of the old model AVG repaints, fitting the aircraft available at Simviation, are now uploaded at The Free Flight site. :encouragement:

The reason why I brought this up is because BR2 released two updated P-40 early models made with Gmax: a P-40B with AVG livery and a P-40C with RAF desert camouflage. In the readme enclosed in the AVG model, BR2 announces that they released 7 Gmax aircrafts painted in AVG historical colours, flown by known AVG pilots. All AVG Gmax models were packaged as whole aircraft uploads and not as simple repaints.

Now, I don't know if they did release all 7 models or not. The only reference I have is BR2's statement, so I figured they must have been uploaded to the old Bruno's website at some point. I only hope, if they were indeed uploaded, some lucky pup among us got them all.

If for some reason they were not released, well, so be it, we'll then never be able to get them. :dread:

Happy St. Paddy's weekend! :very_drunk:

Cheers!
