Another carrier on the horizon

Sylvain graciously let me play with his beta Clemenceau, what a lovely piece of work, some of the best pixel ratio deck textures I've even seen on a ship and it just oozes atmosphere.

Highly recommended IMHO.

Kindest

Michael

Are there any FSX native aircraft capable of using the Clemenceau for real?

No, simulated aircraft cannot use real aircraft carriers. In fact, simulated aircraft cannot be used in real life.

:173go1::bump:

I suppose on review my wording is quite awkward. :icon_lol:

This carrier begs for a native Super Etendard, Crusader or Hawkeye...

Dang!
I just packed up my FSX, now I'll have to dig it out...again!
Thanks for showing us that, it's beautiful.

Alas, the real Clemenceau is now at Hartlepool UK to be broken up. The only time I have ever seen a proper CTOL carrier was on its final voyage. It was a dark and miserable winters evening when I saw her being towed past Whitby.

Hi Everybody!
As Michael said I improved my previous Clemenceau model with a lot of 3D details, and thanks to the brillant carrier creators who are posting here, (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=10680), I was able to add a maximum of working Acceleration features:applause:

I joined some screen shots to show you how my "old lady" looks like now...
Regards
Sylvain

PS: unfortunatelly, right now, there's no true FSX model of airplane that has trapped on Clemenceau/Foch in the real life. Razbam is working on a Breguet Alizé (After having seen the Ron's F102 screenshots, I can't wait for it ! :jump:). F18A have been evaluated by the French navy but not choosen (for other reasons), but Crusader, Super-Etendard, Fouga Zéphyr and Skyhawk are all FS9 native models (no "Etendard" were ever modeled for FS9/FSX)... But to my own point of view, if you need a true FSX model, FSX F18 or Dino's T45C may be a good choice...

Damn fine work!! :applause:

Whew... you guys have raised the bar on carrier modeling... think I may sit this one out I am so far behind!!:wavey:

I love the current version I'm flying off of now and can't wait for what you have in store. I loved it so much I modded the textures to make the Foch to keep the Clem company.

is it possible to get the Brazilian aircraft carrier out of this model? they are pretty much the same as i recall it`?

Hi Shaggy,
Yes and no...
Yes, because Sao Paulo (ex Foch) is the Clemenceau sister ship, and the main ship differences are in details (armements, electronic system, etc...). So after a paint job (Brazilian navy seem to use a grey which looks like the US Navy one), you should have a good looking Sao Paulo...

No, because Super Etendard and Crusader on the flightdeck have to be changed into Skyhawk, and the Pedro's Alouette should be a Seaking (or Seasprite?)... Unfortunately, I don't have these low poly models and my "modeling roadmap" is quite full for the coming next months...
Of course, if anyone can model these objects, I'd be happy to modify my Clemenceau :icon_lol:
Regards,
Sylvain
