Another Kate for Pearl Harbour

Here's another skin-in-progress spawned from Smashing Time's "BI-181" repaint of the stock Kate, which could be a replacement for the duplicated PHP2 Soryu Kate skin.

"BI-318", crewed by Petty Officer Haruo Sato (pilot), Petty Officer 1st class Noboru Kanai (observer) and Petty Officer 2nd class Yoshikazu Hanada (gunner/radioman).

"EII-307", carrier Zuikaku. Unfortunately, Wings Palette does not list a pilot's name or a specific assignment, 1st or 2nd wave, level or torpedo bomber.

Yet, I think it's a nice skin and I somewhat neglected the Zuikaku fleet. Unlike all other profiles I downoladed, it seems like in this one the last two digits of the aircraft id, usually painted on the wings underside, were painted over. If you look carefully at the profile below, the over painted spots are clearly visible. Probably this aircraft had a different ID before, because, in case the ID last two digits were from 01 to 09, I always saw only the last number painted under the wings without the leading 0. But the profile shows two spots overpainted.

As usual, I'll upload both repaints as soon as the damage textures will be ready.

Opinion poll.....

Hi everybody!

I need to know if my attempt at reproducing the deleted numbers under EII-307 wings came out halfway decent.

Does it look, from the attached, that some maintenance crew hastily splashed whatever light paint was available in the carrier maintenance shop to cover the black numbers under the wings?

Coming from you, that you did so many splendid repaints, it tells me I am on the right track, then. I'll leave it like that and start working on the damage textures.

B.T.W.: your Japan mainland FSX texture backdrops for Xavier's airports are simply great!
