Another Stupid DP Question

Hi all,

I downloaded this dp file for Dean Reimer's F/A-18C Hornet, modifed the payloads to use Alphasim's modern weps. The weps show in the preview window but aren't there when I load the plane. I tried using Caleb Flerks tutorial but am still not understanding my error. Here's what it looks like:

I understand that for every type of wepean used, there must be a gunstation entry for that weapon, I.E. machine gun, rocket, bomb, and torpedo.

Off the bat I see this.

"0 .128056" in Gunstation 0. I don't think there should be a space there. I don't know if this is the source of the infection but I've never seen a space in any of the Gunstation lines I've seen.

There's another space in Gunstation 3.

"gunstation.3=3,21,8,0.00,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0 ,0,0,0,0,0"
 
Can't see a whole lot wrong with those segments....if anything, I'd reckon it's maybe a library thing within the sim. Maximum 24 hardpoint entries allowed 0-23.
 
A couple of thoughts:

Is it a FS2000 plane? If it is, perhaps you should run the model through convertMDL.exe. I had a similar problem in a plane converted from FS2000 not long ago and that solved it. Maybe a FS2002 model should also receive the same treatment, I'm not sure.

Then, ALPHASIM modern weapons pack gives problems if installed with other ALPHASIM single-plane weapons. I have no idea why, but they clash somehow.

Maybe some of this helps you in some way.
 
Ok, for starters, thanks to you guys for getting back to me! ~S~

Umm, I went back to edit the spaces that Pen32Win pointed out and for whatever reason, they don't show up that way when I open the original dp file. I did use the ConvertMDL.exe program per JapLance's suggestion and that did the trick. The plane, is in fact, an FS2k2 model and I didn't think it would require the ConvertMDL makeover.

I did have a problem when I used Alphasim's freeware version of their modern weapons, kept getting an error in the a/c preview screen and the weps wouldn't even show up so I deleted the "free" bgl and installed the Alphasim F-4N weps and that solved that issue.
