Pity :(

The last I heard was that the overwhelming demand by the Avsim forum crowd for the 777 and other jetliners pushed this old classic back. I don't know the details...

Me too. Was really looking forward to this one, with hopefully a retardant tank.

I believe there's no reason to talk about looking forward to the PMDG DC-6 in the past tense...

There's every reason to just keep on looking forward to it ! ( i think i can safely say forget the retardant tank.... )

The latest official statement about the PMDG DC--6 from Robert Randazzo himself is from 22 December 2012 :

DC-6 PROGRESS UPDATE:
======================
The DC-6 has gotten a bit held up because of it’s position behind the 777 on the resource chain. This being the case, I anticipate it coming available for release sometime after the 777 release.
If you like old airplanes like we do- then this one will definitely tickle your funny bone…

Take special notice of ' like we do ' here....

The PMDG DC-6 started off as an ' in between project' to give something to do for the PMDG designers not involved with the forthcoming 777 systems and FDE development. Givin the DC-6 WIP screenshots that came with the announcement of the 'secret' PMDG DC-6 project their work was already just about finished.

All that rest us to do is to bite our nails ( mine are already gone, starting on my fingers now) and wait for the damn T7 to be released. Knowing PMDG the wait will be more than worth it even without fingers ! :cool:

cheers,
jan

It'll stay past tense if there's no tank, because the tank was pitched to them early on and somebody said "we can do that".

Shaking my head here, how does an ugly modern tube trump a beautiful old prop which has to be flown as opposed to button pressed. :kilroy:
