Anybody guess the make and location...

MaskRider

Tiller of Soil
of this aircraft?

I took this admittedly crappy pic, in a rush, zoomed to the max, one knee on the wheel, out my passenger side window while driving from San Diego to Sheridan, WY.

Location hint: an airport in Utah- right up near the SW corner of Wyoming.

Lockheed PV-1 Ventura...

Well...

...looks like a Lockheed PV-1 Ventura...

...Airfield unknown...

Hiya Blue Devil. Yep. A Lockheed PV-1 Ventura/PV-2 Harpoon is what it looks like to me, too. That is why it caught my eye. It looks just like the old Alpha Sim Harpoon.

The airifield BTW is Heber City Municipal Airport(36U)- Russ McDonald Field,
Heber, Utah, USA. Beautiful part of the US of A.

I concur with the conclusion of the gentlemen above, a PV-1 Ventura/PV-2 Harpoon.

Welcome back MR! Hope the trip was a good one.

Heber City is indeed a nice place. During the summer tourist season, there used to be a steam train from Provo that chugged its way up there and back. I never got to ride on it, but someday I'd like to if it's still running.

Hiya Jagd,

Yes, the trip was great! That train ride sounds pretty cool- riding a steam powered locomotive train up and back thru Provo Canyon (?) would be awesome.

That is most likely the same bird that was hangered @ the Salt Lake City airport a number of years ago. I'm not all that far from Heber, I think I may take a ride up there & do some snooping around. Of course I realize that Heber might not be the bird's home airport.
Jagd. Yes, the 'Heber Creeper' is still running the last I heard.
