• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I quit using ADT after they screwed up a payment. I used an online bill payment and ADT refused to acknowledge that they received it. After going round and round with their accounting people, I just gave up.
 
WE got our system installed through Sears many, many years ago before wireless was available. I had input on the install and we've been happy with it. We have a contract with a local monitoring company that gets automatically notified if the alarm goes off for any reason. It's peace of mind when we go on vacation.

Recently, we went through a sales pitch with another company because our neighbors had their system installed. They offered to upgrade our system with wireless at no cost if we went with their contract. Almost signed the contract until I read the terms. Not only would we pay higher monthly payments, but we would have been locked into an extesive contract. Also, if we terminated the contract, they would keep the installed equipment. I like our arrangement better where the system is hardwired into the house, and the next owner can decide if they want it monitored or not.

On a note pertaining to the topic, I have the wireless ... seems to work okay.

In fact the control unit is also wireless, it uses cellular to communicate with the monitoring station.

THERE is used to indicate a location and is NEVER used to refer to people.

Yeah my boxer barks loud and with a lot of bass in her voice, but at the end of the day she would an intruder to death too! :icon_lol:
