It'll be interesting to see how well the movie does, since it's already run into problems.
Apparently it was supposed to be released some time ago, but when a test audience was shown the film, terrified children ran screaming from the theater after the "wild things" appeared on screen, so the movie was quickly ordered into some rewrites and the FX for the wild things were reworked to avoid terrifying small children.
Since the book is only about ten sentences long, I don't quite know how they managed to write a feature length script from it, but the end product will at least be different from most of the children's movies out now.
