Anyone here camp in a teardrop trailer?

Home and Garden TV puts together a new RV TV show every year, video available here (http://www.hgtv.com/rv-2009/show/index.html) - no teardrops mentioned in this years clips, but the do show a few of the different pop-ups available (including a pretty cool military style pop-back trailer).

Once my son heads off to college in a couple more years, I'm thinking of getting a 24 to 28 foot travel trailer plus a full size pickup to pull it and carry my Motorcycle, and wandering the country for awhile (my phone's 3G data connection is almost good enough to get by with when I needed, 4G/WiMax should start showing up by then hopefully :-> ). The layout I like has a pushout in the left rear, that is designed for bunk beds, but I think it would make a dandy office with some rack mounted computers and frame mounted monitors :->

I liked the military style popup trailer until I saw the price tag: $23,000.00. Are they nuts? Well they may not be, but the folks who'd pay that ARE!

The teardrop type, with a tent sound a hellovalot more practical and affordable!

Being a campground manager off and on for years since retirement, I'll let you know that the teardroppers are great. I've even seen them with slide outs!. Tent trailers are nice and more livable but not as cool.

I have been on the road in a 31' 5th wheel since '99 and it's a great life. There is so much to see, experience and enjoy in the good 'ol Us. If you come to the gold country in Ca., I'll let you stay at our 49'er ranch at a discount even thou you're Navy.

Have fun with your new rig.
