Anyone port over the Tu-142 to FSX?

Oh man, I can't figure out which repaint is my favorite; they all are my favorite....

Tommy
Thanks, Tommy ...it's your fault I got all eager with these skins.... as with the Avenger ones....once you start you get the 'hang' of them and they get [a bit] easier...;)
I'll upload these latest ones...then have a go at the Canadian one....;)

Edit...
This one's done. Font was a pain...couldn't find it...had to do it 'manually' [cut/paste].

Yeah, I had to do a few cut and paste font jobs myself. Script fonts are the worst to match, especially when you have no good straight-on reference photos or reference material. That being said, this Cubana repaint looks so good / plausible on this aircraft.

Some skins are easier than others....but all have some challenge or other that makes it ........ fun ....;)

These ones have been submitted here today ...;)

I thought I might try a 'modern' Qantas version ....if I am to do a Canadian North one ....both would be an anachronism, though ....where-as all these so far are at least dated about right....;)

Actually....I 'should' really have a go at a metal Aeroflot ...afterall that's the correct airline...;)

I like them all, but most of all wanted the Cubana:icon29: and TWA. A Canadian North would be happy flier on a TU142 for Yellowknife to UHPP and USSS.

Jafo,

Not as exciting as your current work, but I'll make some solid prop disks for your repaints, for those of us with weaker CPU's to address the prop rotation animation stutter that some of us run into in congested areas. There actually is a very subtle prop rotation animation in my solid disks that you can't see in the screen captures below. These can also be used with AI software that doesn't allow for prop rotation animation too, so it's a dual purpose texture. I prefer light prop textures as shown because of the typical FS9 to FSX prop / cloud texture issues. It doesn't solve the problem; it's just my preference.

I kinda liked the darker prop animation so I could see the contras clearly...;)

Edit ....here's an early painted fuse/metal wing...to be a Modern Qantas and eventually a Canadian North...;)

Got the TU142 beauty installed into Prepar3D along with the American Paint you did Jafo and taking a run from PADQ to CYEV. I'll post some pics when done.

Lots of great hard work there, Jafo!

I know this might be somewhat pedestrian, but any chance that a standard late-life (late 60s) Aeroflot scheme, with the enhancements/weathering these fictional schemes received - could be considered?

Something like this: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Aeroflot/Tupolev-Tu-114/1230549/M/

I know it's one of the original 3 that came with the pack, but perhaps now with these enhancements, that same scheme might look better ...

Just an idea?

thanks either way - great work on these!

Try one of the following on Flightsim.com:

tu114upt.zip

tu114_70.zip

tu114_90.zip

For your request specifically, go for the first file, but for later decades, the other two work.

Yes, I have a whole swag of those images....and plan to do a higher-res metal ver at some stage...;)

SeanTK ...got those...they're what I'll base the reworks on [eventually].

Meanwhile....the Can North .... again finding dramas...where the heck is the underside fuse/tailplane fairing...and the cap of the tail?
The first step is the rough-in of the colours...then chase fine clean-up...;)

Looking good on the Canadian North paint, I'm just getting ready for its flight by planning the pickup from USSS and ferry her to CYZF with stops at UHPP and PADQ. Meanwhile i took these of the American Paint out of PADQ and the Cubana out of PADQ to KAST on the way to Havana. Next stop for Cubana before MUHA is KPIE, look out Ickie.

Glad to see them flying...;)

Re the Can Nth paint...I found the missing bits...so am one step closer to getting it done.
Having to randomly splat colours on where something 'might' be mapped...then load it to see if you were right....or not... took a bit of time. Tail fin was just the tail too 'short'...but the fuse-tail fairing underside was found by painting in pink ...it's an undefined rectangle to the right [in 888 format] on the Tu-114wings.bmp...;)

Here's the 'win'...;)
