Anyone port over the Tu-142 to FSX?

I, for one, prefer flying airliners in 2D panel view - so I'll make use of this for sure!!

Great job!

Here's one more....

Kulula .... got a giggle out of this one...with the text...but had to alter it a bit as it's [obviously] a different aircraft.

...and discovered a quirk of the skin mapping that's unfortunate...but I ignored it...;)

Here's the last/most recent ones done, and submitted here....

VH-OJC "City of Melbourne" from the real B747-400 .....wasn't the easiest skin ...had to redefine exactly which bits of the top of the fuse in the BMP went where...as the paintwork wraps over. Next month is the Australian F1 GP ...which will be the 34th consecutive AGP at which I've worked as a Comms/Observer [aka 'Jafo'] ...;)

'Artist's impression' [always liked that term] of a 114 in military transport guise [as was an intended/potential use].... the colouring/style inspired by 'contemporary' Tu-22s ...;)

What next?....dunno....had a notion to try an 'Air Force One' paint...but then instead came up with the recession-induced 'Air Force One-Half' .....[not uploaded]

Jafo,

Enjoying your prolific series of paints for this aircraft.

Be nice to have a private/VIP/BBJ like edition, a la:

Glad you're enjoying them...;)

That paint would be particularly difficult....the curved waistline...matching it into the four odd-scaled pieces along each side of the Fuse....but a challenge is a challenge...;)

Probably would need more images of the critter though...;)

I think Baldrick might be smarter than me....
I had this idea of sticking the bits together...then add the stripes...then cut it up again....remembering that the section forward of the wing...and aft of the cockpit is actually a different scale..... here's the mess so far....

I'll keep at it..... but I'll likely have to do a lot of 'fudging' of the results...;)

Edit.....told ya there was going to be a lot of fudging.....

View attachment 80457

Alignment is still off ....bum's wrong ...and it's all too high up anyway...;)

Edit......[again].....Fudge...fudge...fudge....

Finished.....darkened the blue down 30% ....improved the segment aligning....stripes on the engines....Tu logo ... metal cockpit window trim ...and figured 'EX-PAT' would suit as a call sign...;)

Can't wait to see the expression on all those Lear and G-5 owners' faces when I pull up to the FBO at Teterboro in this thing. Now, what about an air stair that reaches the door, hmmmm. :icon_eek:

Yes...reading my new book about 'em...and the ladder attached to the air stair in the US cos nothing would reach..;)

Also...interesting clarification....the U/C housing/fairing and arse-end of the engines was painted black eventually...to hide the exhaust soot.
I should treat this one as a 'later ver' and paint them black.....;)

BTW...the 114 held 31 records back in the early sixties.....and they all still stand today - unbeaten....;)

Just spent the better part of 2 days hunting down some errant pixels...literally one at a time while reloading to see results.
Port wingroot rear conflicts with Port rearmost top of fuselage....pain when one's 'metal' grey and the other is white. Zero room for error.
I got it 'near enough'...and it just means I'm a bit closer to what could laughingly be called a 'paintkit'....;p
