Anyone recieved a copy of P3 in Aus or NZ yet?

Ha, how do you know Toto didn't like it?

I'll probably end up getting Rise of Flight before OFF3!

Just kidding. Am I. yes of course I am. It just feels I am the only poor bugger out there who doesn't have it. Boo hoo. I mean even those bloody "I'm still living in the 19 century kiwis" have got it. Although I must admit that "flight of the conchords" is one of the funniest shows ever.

no worries fellas, I just noticed in some other thread, someone from your parts already has it... day to day now

Got my copy today in the mail. I'm in Melbourne Aust. Just finished installing on Vista 32 and it fired like a well oiled machine........no dramas...:applause:

Actually us Yanks feel really bad about the $9, while we know the stamp was $1.96. However it's not really that far out of line, I buy alot of garbage online, as it greatly increases your selection. Most have a minimum shipping and handleing of $7.95 or $8.95. Yes it's a lot, but it's a lot cheaper than driving 1500 miles.

A stinking DVD from Amazon.com costs $4.95 to go across the USA

$9 to OZ, doesn't sound too excessive

Shipping prices online are hit or miss. It's become an unhappy custom online to overcharge for shipping as a way of padding a business's margins. Ebay has become notorious as a haven for that kind of activity. If you think shipping online is usually a "rip off", you actually might be right-- the company baits with a lower "price" but then gets you on the shipping.

As someone who used to package legal documents, letters, and general packages for a living, I can tell you a "handling" charge is usually just an excuse to jack the final.

But online this has become the norm, so you won't do much better elsewhere. I paid the full freight on P3 here in the US. The total "final out of pocket" number was high, but not out of the ballpark for a computer game.

Got mine

Ordered mine on the 20th. Arrived in my mailbox yesterday (29th). Haven't even had a chance to install yet and I've got to go to Taupo tomorrow.

Aaaarrrrrggggh.

I'm now day 16 and waiting:faint:. Visisting here is pure torture.

Nobody knows the inside of their letterbox better then me.

Well I'm starting to get a bit concerned. Reason being is so many in our geographical area received in way under 2 weeks. Whilst I may just be 'unlucky' and its held up - I decided to write to Avangate Support and just query in a polite manner if my DVD got away ok. Instead of the answering my question Avangate just copied and pasted a section of their internet (the bit about back-up cds being sent). No hi or Dear Sir, just a straight copy and paste. So now I was left wondering 'what the hell does this mean?" and wrote back in reiterated my original question and was I now to assume it didn't go the first time? Well that was witten over a day ago and now they are just not replying. I don't believe I'm being a nag, as Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, NZ etc was all quite quick considering, and then I get a cryptic response to my query. I'm quite a patient person (well getting better anyway) its just frustrating when you ask an easy question and don't get an answer and meanwhile the world, except for Central Africa and the like, are blasting the hun from the skies. Perhaps I should of waited the 'up to 21 days' before I queried, but then it would be starting all over again and that would equal 62 days people. I just hope they eventually reply this time, it's not a hard question.

I wouldn't worry about the 'backup DVD' thing, for the following reason. The packing sheet that arrived with my DVD listed it as 'Part# BackupDVD' so I think that this is just the weird name for it in their system. Everyone gets a 'BackupDVD' I assume (but what do I know?). Maybe others can confirm.

Thanks 77Scout, but whatever the reason it doesn't excuse their poor customer service. The only thing they've managed to do right so far was take my money on the first day. But all that is quite irrelevant as I just asked a basic question and the toolbags can't/won't answer me. Very dissapointing customer service. All I want is a human from Avangate to answer my query - it's not hard people, I've seen it done.

Thanks Andy...

That still beats good old SA delivery is 4 - 6 weeks on average here irrespective of who I buy goods from!!
I have still not received my OFF order but I am used to that - yeah I want the box on the shelf ;)

But then I can still play- although I have no time for that these days.

Pleased all is in order.

Good lordy lord an :amen: It finally got here.

Pretty much an entire month for my order to get to me in Christchurch NZ. That seems a bit odd given the reports from other kiwi's of it arriving within 10 days or so.

Post mark on the box suggests it wasnt actually posted till 5 days after they told me it was.... :kilroy: Which kinda sucks. When I contacted them after 2 weeks or so, and asked for a tracking number, I was given one promptly. But upon entering it at the site I was told too (US Post).... I then eventually recieved a single email with some non details in it, telling me basically nothing about where my parcel was. Not very impressive, compared to other overseas parcels I've purchased in the past.

So all an all... I love the game (tried it out this afternoon), I'm thrilled it finally arrived, and I'm totally underwhelmed by the crap delivery process.

When amateur E-bay retailers can outperform a supposedly professional company who do this stuff for a living, in delivering parcels to the other side of the world, you gotta wonder about said company's service.

Rant over... and I repeat - the Game is Fantastic! I'll be lining up to buy phase 4 if it ever eventuates.
