Oh, yes you are !! The treat is called "Chase Plane" and its an absolute winner !! (y) (y) (y)

Atm available for FS2020 only, FS2024 version in the pipeline.

So i'm leaving you guys here, packed up my stuff and went back to MSFS2020 where finally, after more than 4 years of suffering and longing, i have my beloved Fly-By and Tower View back in the most exquisite way i didn't even dare dreaming of ! WOW!!

You'll notice almost immidiately that Chase Plane is a World Class Act when you start assigning key- and stick bindings. That, in itself, is already a great joy ! 'User Friendly' has been givin a new meaning here !

Sofar i have only experienced about 25% of what this amazing add-on has to offer and if this was all i would already be Happy In MSFS Heaven ! Particularly with MSFS2024 i have been struggling with my cockpit views and bindings until i was on the virge of giving up on 2024 all together. I even bought Tobii eyetracker but i just can't get used to it. Now, with ChasePlane in control i wonder why MSAsobo made such a mess of it. Setting up your stick/yoke buttons and key controls is childsplay now !

Btw, not only because of Chaseplane 2020 only but also because of checking out heavy stuff in 2020 and bringing it over to 2024 i have gathered a good feeling of the difference between 2020 and 2024. I'd say in the first place MSFS2020 'feels old'... No matter the terrible mess i do prefer
MSFS2024 much more over MSFS2020 than ever before. Even be it only because FS2024 starts up atleast 10 times faster than 2020 !

But no matter that, i'm so glad i've kept FS2020 so i can enjoy Chaseplane that makes FS2020 feel like it should've been all along when it rolled off the MSAsobo conveyor belt more than 4 years ago !

You guys just hang around here and wait for it. It's a total gamechanger in FS2020 already and it will have such an impact on FS2024 that it will turn it into the true wonder it was supposed to be instantly !

Just saying ;)

I've overlooked many utilities but from what I'm hearing, both now and in the past, I think I'd better have a closer look at Chase Plane. Thanks, Jan.

You're welcome, Paul.

Hard to believe the seemingly lack of interest in this superb Marvel. There's a truckload of interest in it at Avsim *before* release (23 pages !), now that it's outthere it's gone all quiet.... Remarkable.. Personally i can't stop trumpeting forward the absolute beauty of it !

Btw, and there's another Marvel on our virtual Firmament : Sayintentions.ai ! WOW!! again !! Has a nice bit of learning curve attached to it so i'll report back later. For now i'll drop in just another WOW!!! ( https://www.sayintentions.ai/ )

Yes, 'Say Intentions' is also on my list of things to consider. Normally, I don't bother with ATC at all, preferring to imagine it in my head - there are a lot fewer bugs that way ;). However, I've watched Youtubes of 'Say Intentions', and it does seem very good.

Chase Plane first, though - I think I'll get it this weekend! Thanks again for the recommendation.

You have no idea how much both these programs enhance MSFS2020/24, Paul ! How have we ever coped without them ! :encouragement:

Well, in legacy sims there was no need for a third party addon to have tower view.

As for all things "AI", I'm very weary of that. In stead of thinking about artificial intelligence, I think we should ponder more about natural stupidity...

You don't know where that AI stuff stores your data. So for me it is spyware.

Yeah, but how personal is your ATC conversation data? I’m not going to let an AI LLM edit a book I’m writing, but ATC AI feels about as benign as AI can get.

we're going to be dancing around and round on this topic long into the foreseeable future. Is AI a net positive? any kind of positive (give and take) or just too risky?
The fact is - it's here.
It has been envisioned as 'the greatest tool mankind has ever created' but is often described as the greatest threat to our survival. Just like every other invention of ours, it comes down to how it's used.
Every time we invent something it's the same story - think of the invention of the airplane. Of all the many inventions, the steam engine, the telephone, the radio, the computer, manned orbital flight and the moon landing, the airplane upon its invention was thought to have been such a glorious achievement it would end human conflict. Same for the space program. None of that has happened. We keep competing with our own kind - contesting each others political or ethnic or religious condition - all the while failing to see these are meaningless differences to have on this ONE world.
All the things we have created, from the beginning of time, have either been made for war, or warped to fit that purpose. AI will be no different. In other words - it wont be an invention or a creation of ours that will end this pattern of destruction, that will change US.
Only WE can do that. When we ask ourselves - just as they did on Apollo 13 - 'we can keep fighting over how we got here until we're exhausted or dead, but after we're done fighting we'll still be right here, no closer to home - or - we can get together and start working the problem - what's it going to be? - Jim Lovell
Earth itself doesn't amount to much more than that little capsule, in the grand configuration of space and time - and everyone on this planet is the same rank - passenger - it's all just a matter of perspective. Or scale.
What's it going to be?

LOL heywooood, now you threw me into a conundrum. I find myself agreeing to all you said but still think Chaseplane is a great tool :)
Gosh!!

AI is exactly that, it is artificial intelligence. It learns. We have no guarantee that the AI in whatever M$ product will learn enough to access and transfer all our data on our PC's. Flightsim related or other.

Also, the firms and people who control AI at the moment don't inspire confidence at all. The so-called "tech-bro's" are looking for domination, nothing more and nothing less.
