Area 51 Sim - RAH-66 Comanche released!

Note that as the pilots are not part of the paint kit I have not been able to keep all the detail of the flightsuits. Perhaps a more skilled repainter will be able to do it.

 
Hi. Im working on this fictional NASA repaint but getting bored. Does anyone want it? If so I will finish it!

I will take the dirt off and try to get the stripe to follow the contour of the fuselarge.

A NASA Comanche is not really my thing, to be honest (hopefully I am the only one), but would you perhaps consider some sort of ‘polar’ skin?

Hi stickshaker - I understand and yes - do you want to show me an image of another make of chopper with the plar look that I should base it on for you?

http://www.military-art.com/mall/more.php?ProdID=7347. Is this an inspiration? I hav no precise ideas on how a polar Comanche could look. Perhaps changing the colors of your desert skin to white, gray and dark blue migh do it.

By the way, you also posted on the AMA Comanche. Can you tell us how it compares to the Area 51 one? Does it have a Helmet-Mounted Display and various sensors?

Hi Thanks I will do the snow camo for you. Do you want it as a brit?

The AMA comanchie is very similar to the AMA Longbow if you ever flew that. I doubt it the flight dymamics are anywhere close but they are OK. Yes the helmet displays works up to a point at the moment as it is still all in beta. It might be worth asking once the product is fully released.

This wasn't necessary. The link you provide is for a thread stating that the Helo is "Under Development". No reason to chastise someone for starting a new thread for it's release. Now. . .back on-topic.:salute:

This is perfect! Just what I would imagine a polar skin would look like on the real thing. The U.S. Army is fine with me. I checked whether Apaches had a national insigna but they don't, so there is no need for it on the Comanche. That was my only issue. Thank you so much for making it! I'm sure others will enjoy it as well.

Thanks for the information on the AMA Comanche. It seems encouraging, and a perfect FM is splendid, but an adequate one is sufficient to enjoy flying it.
 
Thanks guys for the encouragement - its appreciated. Let me know if there are any other schemes you think would look good? I think I have done all of my ideas now.

Barnes, I don't have the A51 RAH-66 yet, but I may have to buy it just for your repaints.....and I haven't flown FSX in months. Great job.

As for a suggestion or two (since the Comanche never entered service, anything can go):
Navy scheme
Marine scheme
Air Force (like the Osprey's paint job maybe)


Just ideas, I don't expect you to do them.

Now...off to look at the A51 page.....

I think your idea of an Osprey scheme is a good one. there are a few versions - please show me a image for me to base it on.

Great job on the Experimental Comanche and the snow camo! I've been traveling with work, but I'm downloading these today!! Thanks for the repaints!
