Is the HMDS a borderless panel subwindow that is automatically opened when the aircraft is loaded?

it's a borderless subpanel that has to be enabled with 'shift-1' so whenever changing views out of the vc and back, have to 'shift-1' again...

not conformal or anything like that, a poor man's hmds.

Would a "type=SPECIAL" entry help to keep the HMDS visible when changing views? Also what is the scenery used in the video? It looks like ORBX but what specific airfield is that?

yes, adding type=special does make the gauge persistent in all views. thanks for that.
