Armistice day

The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month 1918.
My father who was a soldier in WWII died on this day three years ago. Tonight the family will raise a glass to his memory as well as all those who died in service.

had a morning at the Parade in my local town... was pleased with the turnout from those on civvy street and those in 1st CIV DIV (Service Members having just retired or left, myself included) and likewise from the local Cadet Forces and Veterans... Marched right through the heart of town to the church where those that wanted to, attended, and those that didn't stayed outside smoking and swapping our stories, the pride you feel is immeasurable in both yourself from the crowd lining the route and proud to speak to some of these Veterans, from what many (myself included) would call the 'Golden Generation', our countries called, they answered and gave it their all.... while talking to a friend i took the opportunity to take my camera out of my jacket pocket and fired off a photo, which after editing turned out quite alright...

so, this photo is for those that are serving and have heard our nations calls and answered! to you all i thank you :salute: and to the civilians that give us pride, and are interested in hearing our tales, and brave the elements to witness our history, again, Thank you (2 wreaths fell over just as i got focus lock, i think i'll call those pair 'the fallen' )
