Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

I have created all the Heliports and Stagefields that were in use in the mid 1960's at Ft Wolters, TX. I am a 84 yr old novice at this so I would like suggestions and any other advice on enhancing this project. I went through training there in 1968. I am posting this in the downloads section.
Thanks for you advice

Quite the undertaking Sir and well done! I have loaded all that you have done and since I live in Texas it's nice to have another area to visit and practice my Helicopter skills. Right now I fly the OH-6 Little Bird and the Huey. The OH-6 is my favorite though. While you mention being a novice in scenery design, I suspect you did a fair amount of flying helicopters.

As for enhancing the project and not being familiar with any of the areas you've reproduced, the addition of people around the area, support vehicles, weapons emplacement (sandbagged areas) might be a good idea. You are a better judge of that than I however. Keep up the good work though!!

Thanks for your reply. I went to flight school there in 1968. Already had 1 tour in RVN when I went there. That gave me another tour in 1969-70 with the 116th Assault Helicopter Co in Cu Chi. Being already in aircraft maintenance, I was a Maintenance Officer, but I had plenty of flight time. We didn't have any military support vehicles. Mostly pickups and civilian vehicles. I flew th T-55 trainer, OH-13, OH-23, UH-1 B, C, G & H. Also had some time in the Chinook. I retired from the Army in 1980 I will look into adding people and vehicles to the project. I am going from memory as Ft Wolters was closed in the early 80's. Most of this is from looking back at existing remains and memory, however at 84 iy can be quite sketchy at times.
