Attention all CFS2-ers...

Question

I am in the process of updating the downloads readmes to several of my campaigns. Do the FDGv2 Donationware aircraft need to be uploaded to the new library or are they to be left where they are?

BTW: I have uploaded 2 of my mini-campaigns and 3 old missions (after fixing the readmes), Thicko's Brewster_F2a3_Buffalo as well as the 3 FDGv2 F6F-5s.

There are 7 CFS2 sound files in the Warbirds Library Archive II, and 107 sound files in the Warbirds Library Archive. Most of them are for engine sounds, but thera are aothers for weapons, radio chatter, stalll horn, sirens for diving Stukas, etc.

I have already done an Excel file with all the data. I need to supress duplicated files (ex.: erufle´s Italian radio chater, some of Lawdog´s engine sound, etc) and add some info on the type of aircraft they apply to, etc.

Wouldn´t it be good to upload this files to the Warbirds Library? If so I can begging uploadding them.

Cheers, Discus

anyone knows what will happen to the library fs2004? and if someone will do the same? wonder why fs2004 is a great resource for CFS2!

Hi Discus,

I was going to start on the sound files when I finished the other's section. If you want to do this, it would be very much appreciated by not only me, but also Rami as well I'm sure. I can start on another section instead. A few more volunteers would be great.

I think this is a good project, looking at the number of new downloads to the stuff which has been transferred across so far. The files in the old archive are fairly well hidden to the occasional browser of this website.

Thanks,
Kevin

Here are today's uploads for the Other section of the library:

uires_korea.zip
scuttle_korea.zip
cbi_uires.zip
VN_Uires.zip
bof_bob.zip
AUTO_SPLASHS_CBI.zip
AUTO_SPLASHS_Euro40.zip
4.zip
EURO_45_AUTO_SPLASHS-LOAD-ALERT.zip
Phantom.zip
L46.zip
splashK46.zip
us_pacific_out_screens.zip

Some consolidation of files needs to be done. I wasn't able to do it as a number of the files which need combining with these are already in the library.

This is as many as I could do in the spashscreen department - I received the "404" error for a few files.

Oops!! Help needed

Thanks Discus :salute:
How can I upload someone else´s file with his own name?

I´ve uploaded the first file and I couldn´t change the name in the "submitted by" box. I thought it would be changed by someone giving the Ok to the upload. But instead it appeared inmedeately with my avatar and "name". I don´t want to take credit of something I haven´t done.

Cheers, Discus

fvb_brit_radio_calls.zip

There are two important sound files that have english and german radio chatter that are not uploadded to the SOH. I´ll try to get permission to upload them here. They appear in thge down load list of many campaigns, specially Rami´s.

Discus,

That's my job. I put the correct names in before I approve the files. :salute:

Hey guys,

Come Friday, I'll be able to work on this project again. Thanks for all the effort on this!

Also, I know you said XavierB's scenery packages were updated and consolidated but 2 of his older GSL sceneries are used in my "USS Saratoga CV-3" campaign - Java and Sumatra. I cant be sure the redone/consolidated packs have the same locations for all objects/targets, so I went ahead and uploaded those two to the library, okay?

Shadow Wolf,

1) I double-checked for you. Yes, the aerodromes are in the same place, and the GSL file size is the same. So, I can modify the packages if need be to reflect that for you if you'd like.

2) I may also have to do that because I want to eliminate any updates for people like thicko, to make installation easier. I combined the packages.

3) I made sure today that all donationware are now uploaded to the new library, they are in the Donationware folder.

I looked at the scenery bgls and the 3 for Sabang, Sumatra are different (2005 vs 2006). I can only assume changes have been made even though they are the same size. I think not to have his Java and Sumatra packs uploaded will render at least 6 of the campaign missions in the Indian Ocean useless.

"Desperate Battles" campaign has been revised and uploaded thanks to the new links for Donationware.

2000 hrs: "USS Essex CV-9" Campaign has been revised (downloads readme) and reposted.

Today late uploads to CFS2 sound section:

flak4cfs.zip

Shadow Wolf,

Just to be sure, I double-checked. It appears that all he did was tweak the bitmaps, the placement of objects did not change.

Also, I consolidated the coastal defense packages last week, the link is right here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=45&id=5901

Gotcha, thanks! I already put in the link for coastal def pak 2 because the description of 1 is 22 objects, the same as in the old archive - no sweat though. :) I will be redoing the upload for the Saratoga campaign sometime today.
