Gaw, I am sorry about that. It does read "CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.30 Obsolete File Remover.exe".

By all means, please run the CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.40 Obsolete File Remover.exe as it's the one you're supposed to run and the only one included. I guess I made a typo. My apologies.:d

Hey grizz I ran the CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.30 Obsolete File. Then installed 1.40. Should I run the 1.40 Obsolete File Remover now? Will it mean reinstaling
1.40.

I have stated before that I had made a typo. Forgive me.

As for the Fileremover in the ETO 1.40 Install Pack, there is only ONE, and that is the CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.40 Obsolete File Remover.exe.

It should be run BEFORE installation of the CFS3 ETO Expansion Cumulative Update Rev 1.40.exe.

This is what the installation instructions SHOULD say:

"Installing the CFS3 ETO Expansion Update Rev 1.40.exe

Note: Be sure to place your CFS3 ETO Expansion Theater in ERA 1 and set the ETO Spawn Selector to 1, Stock Spawn Mode, before installing this Update.

1. Run the CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.40 Obsolete File Remover.exe. This will remove obsolete files and folders from your CFS3 ETO Expansion main game folder.

Note: If the location of your CFS3 ETO Expansion folder is NOT in the default location of C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games, simply right-click on the CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.40 Obsolete File Remover.exe and follow the installation procedure. Change the default path in the CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.40 Obsolete File Remover.exe to match the path of your install. It may take a few minutes for the program to run.

NOTE: Do NOT run the CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.40 Obsolete File Remover.exe AFTER installation of CFS3 ETO Expansion Cumulative Update Rev 1.40.exe. You will remove necessary files if you do."

If you run the CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.40 Obsolete File Remover.exe AFTER installation, you WILL have to reinstall the CFS3 ETO Expansion Cumulative Update Rev 1.40.exe.

I think I'll just reinstall after copying the backup. I just rename CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.40 to old. Then run thereinstall the CFS3 ETO 1.40

Old Tiger, from that first README:

"NOTE: This CFS3 ETO Expansion Update 1.40 was designed to be installed on an ETO 1.20 install, an ETO 1.30 install, or an ETO 1.31 install with no problems, as long as all install instructions are followed to the letter. The ETO 1.30 and ETO 1.31 Updates will be discontinued upon release of CFS3 ETO Expansion Cumulative Update Rev 1.40. You will still need ETO 1.0 and ETO 1.20 in place in order to install this ETO 1.40 Update package."

In other words, you only need ETO 1.0 and 1.20 installed for ETO 1.40 to work. All of ETO 1.30 and 1.31 are already IN ETO 1.40. We did it that way to reduce the number of downloads needed and to make things a bit simpler in the long run.

If already have a copy of a full 1.20, 1.30 or 1.31 install, by all means, copy it back over to your normal location and install 1.40 right over it.

Make sure to start ETO in Era 1 first and then exit, and that the Spawn Selector is set to 1, as normal. Then run the ETO 1.40 Fileremover before installation of the 1.40 Update.:d

BDP Zapper just closes window

When I run the BDP Zapper after installing 1.40, the command window flashes up and then closes immediately. I also tried running the .exe from a command prompt to try to see if there was an error generated but running the .exe just closes this window as well. There are still many .bdp files in the directory structure, is there any harm in leaving them? I'm running XP.

I'm in the process of installing CFS3, ETO Expansion, and all the updates together as I haven't played CFS3 for years. When I learned of ETO Expansion, I had to try it out.

Many thanks for all this great work. I really look forward to dogfighting in the mountains.

Hello All,

I noticed and self corrected what was needed in the instruction sheets but i have to aware
you that Clive as become Italian because is name is now Morely (Morelli ?) in the credit page
It musn't be easy to type all this with bear hands ! ETO 1.4 works fine for me and I have to thank grizzly50 and all the team for that new great expansion.
