• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Attention Developers
This only applies to Stickies and Front Page News

The administrators of The Sim-Outhouse have implemented a new policy regarding“stickied” threads that announce new releases. You may have noticed a new section in the Forum index. The “What’s New” section will now contain the announcements that were once “stickied” in the other main sections. They will also be echo edvia script to the website’s front page. Lastly, there will be no replies to the announcements in the new section. Separate threads may be started in the appropriate sections for discussion as before. Not just anyone will be able to access the section. Here are the requirements:<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Who: First and foremost, SOH has always been member funded, so we also consider it member owned. Therefore, only Charter Members who are also either a developer the designated member of a development group will get threads stickied or begranted access to the new section. If you are either a developer or dev. group member, PM an administrator so that we can get you added to the list of authorized users. Until that is sorted, you may still post in the appropriate forum a staff member will move or copy the post to the “What’s New” section.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
What: The title of the post should be short and to the point. We’d like titles like FS9 Payware Avelina, or FSX Freeware VO-10. The post should tell userswhere to get the package, and also provide a point of contact for support, whether that be an email address, the developer’s own forum, or here at SOH. Please note that only freeware will be allowed to list SOH as a support contact.

note: Special sales do not apply, only new products.

Sorry, but I cant find a new corner (if I understand well) dedicated for sticky subjects with new products for FSX or I hope this possibility will be too here in FSX corner of Forum?

i would find it more uselful being in the FSx subfolder than at the main route of the forums, a few reasons why;

1, im only interested in FSX only addons
2, i never read any of the other forums here
3, i dont want to be sifting through different posts to find just the FSX products

Yes i agree its a good idea but possibly could be sub catorgarised into the different versions of FS and also shortcuts from here in the FSX subfolder to the FSX subfolder in the Whats new?

I agree with Chris and Yoyo. The new tab is not as user friendly as I would hope for. Lumping everything into one tab makes it tough to find what I'm looking for. Honestly, I only view the FSX forums on SOH, though I am probably the only one that does that. Anyway, thought I was going nuts trying to locate the "What's New?" tab, musta looked a dozen times for it, through the newshawk forums and FSX. I finally found it up top.

I would love it if you placed a "what's New?" in each particular main folder, so I can see what's new in FSX. I don't personally care for what's new in Sci-fi, CFS2/3, train sim, FS2004, etc..anyway, just my opine

Ugh, I hate it. :( This forum is what I had bookmarked, and where I spend 95% of my Sim-Outhouse time.

I click What's New? and I see the list of all the new threads, including the forums I don't read, but I didn't see a nice sticky list of new products.

I understand wanting to support developers who help support Sim-Outhouse, but IMHO it's a lot more convenient to have the FSX/FS9/etc. stuff all together in the approprite forums.

Am I missing something? Can someone please paste the link for the list of new stuff?

(Or better yet, realize that forumgoers fear change and reject improvements, and put things back the way they were? <grin>)

The "News" page idea is still under consideration but that sample page has now been removed. It was going to be complex to manage and may not resurface.
Truth is though at the moment is that there isn't a right lot to stick as FsX World takes a breather to see what Flight is and then gets back to making FsX World a better place again.

+1,000,000,000

All I ever do is go to the FSX forums - they are my SoH bookmark.

It doesn't make any sense... the FSX titles should be in the FSX forum etc etc...

I agree - the stickies at the top of the FSX forum worked well. Why change it? I think a bigger problem with regards to monetary support of SOH was the original JF DC6 and the way the mods and admins handled that.... I for one wont donate because of it.....

Well I guess we'll just have to manage without you Henk, because the rubbishing of a model in that way would never be and never was allowed. If you want unmoderated anarchy I'm sure there are plenty of forums where you can find what you're looking for.
