I hope you don't leave over this. I have read each of the threads. More than once I wanted to post. However, I knew it wouldn't be productive, so I didn't.

In my opinion he was acting like a talented spoiled brat. I have never seen him act like that before so I was taken back. He seemed to take offense at everyone who commented and chalked it up to, "I am just that way!"

We all sometimes feel like kicking a screaming and all have bad days. We are still held responsible for our actions. Why should a talented painted be any different.

I will welcome him back when he returns. I hope he keeps perspective when he returns.

I must agree that Yago has always had a bit of that "prima donna" streak. (I may be a new poster, but I'm not new to reading this or other sim boards.)

My decision to leave or take a long break will be for reasons greater than Yago being banned.

I've seen many in here act much worse or quite frankly, badger the hell out of others in a relentlessly wide range of banter. None of them received the same treatment as I recall. Personally, I think that the moderation here is getting a wee bit heavy handed with the thread locks and bans. Unfortunately that is what happens sometimes when people get any level of power over others. No matter what, some will swing that "stick" a bit harder than others for whatever reasons(maybe because it feels good to do so)
I said it before and I'll say it again for the last time, fix the illness out of sight, not in the open. Also, maybe you mods can distinguish or not by the way a person writes/types, (or speaks) that maybe English isn't their native language and that sometimes, their native language doesn't always have an equivalent to English words and characters. That causes some confusion and uneven responses at times. Worse being missed, some folks who come through here may have physical or mental impairments/deficits or a combination of the two that may be exacerbated by any negative input or seemingly negative reaction to what they say or do. More than once, things like this have been missed here. The results were painfully evident and at times, some just couldn't back off from their relentless propensity for badgering and sniping. Makes me sick and I have had enough.

I am going to take a very long break from here(maybe permanently) regardless of what I may miss from the FS community being presented here. Reason being that this has all but ceased to be such a community and started going the way of some former forums.

To the ones my opinion isn't aimed at, Godspeed to you all.

Remember that some things are said through private messaging, and sometimes it is better we aren't involved in it. I doubt anyone here would be banned for no reason at all. There are always things going on behind closed doors.

I believe the staff said elsewhere that he's been banned. What for? I have no idea. I think it's fair to assume that we don't know the half of it even though it seems like it was for nothing. It really is too bad, because he's the greatest painter there's ever been in this hobby. I'm pretty sure he only uploaded here, too. Even if he's unbanned, he's probably never going to upload here again. What a shame.

One thing of note: I think even though he's American, this may very well be his second language. I complimented him in another thread, and he appeared to take offense at it, like he didn't understand what I said. Is there another language where commas are used instead of apostrophes? I'm serious.


Yago is one of those like Piglet and Mike Stone who's contributions are legendary. I hope this smooths over without the usual 'how you should act' threads and posts we get when there's drama.

You can't be serious. The economy's bad, computers always have something wrong and forums will always have arguments. Being part of this community is definitely a hobby, and I'm not giving up any of my hobbies over any of the three.

I dont like wading into controversy on forums but I am sick of seeing flight sim forums disintegrating due to ....well..all sorts of petty issues.

As a moderator on another flight sim forum (a lot smaller than this one..so not much goes on) .. a lot goes can on behind the scenes that causes persons to banned either permanently or tempoairily. with 1000s of members here there is bound to be a few clashes. I am not sure what happened to Yago but there is probably more than meets the eye.

A moderators work can be quite unrewarding trying to keep the fights to a minimum and walking the diplomatic tight rope. Different languages and cultures also make the going tough for forum moderators/admin.

Hopefully SOH makes it through this rough patch and that other talented modellers & repainters (I'm not one of them!) dont decide to bolt and hopefully what has been lost can be made up by other talented persons lurking out there.

The amount of developers and repainters and WIPs on this forum is what make SOH interesting ..plus there is not too much about boring modern tubeliners as on many other flightsim forums (whoops hope I havent ignited anther scrap!)

I am feeling a partly responsible for some of this. I apologized to SOH staff, and Smudge for continuing this in public. So I now apologize to the public here for not taking this to PM sooner.

My first post should have been worded more maturely but I stand by my sentiment. SOH is the best FS community (only forum I've ever donated to) and that is what I was fighting for. I had no idea who Yago9 was, I just saw a member abusing others without provocation repeatedly. I felt that was wrong and a detriment to the community. Things got way off course after that. It was about respect for others.

I then made the mistake of posting what I did in the F-16 thread. Valid point again but should have been done in PM (I switched to that method right after yago's response because I realized I was being a hypocritical @ss by posting there). For furthering the argument in public and thread crapping in Smudges thread I truly am sorry.

I ended up causing exactly what I was meaning to stop which is an unfriendly environment. Again I am sorry for that.

I will go back to being a silent lurker and keep all my communications with members in PM. If you don't want to hear from me just ignore me if I pm you. I won't repeat it if I get no response.

Bob please reconsider, you have many friends and fans here (I'm one) and it would be a shame if this caused you to leave.

I've made my apology and will now fade into the woodwork.

This is quite sad to see happening. First Yago, now Bob. I realize that to many this seems like a double whammy. . .two of the preeminent photoreal painters gone within a few days along with Bob's talent for producing some beautiful props, it would seem that there will be a great deficit within the community and that goes without saying, however, one thing I've learned in 62 years of hanging around is that everything moves ahead, the world won't stop, the aircraft will continue to be painted and nothing much will change. SOH will continue on and at some point, fresh blood will move in and replace the old guard. The world doesn't revolve around just one person, even when that one person might believe it does (I did until I realized I had to retire and thought that no one would be able to do the job as good as I did. . .not, lol).

I can tell you, that there were some PM's exchanged behind the scenes between individuals that were full of rage and profanity that were at least in part cause for the changes you are seeing. There's always a reason for what happens even if on the surface there appears to be no legitimate reason.

Usually, everything happens for a reason, but sometimes, there's no real reason that things should happen the way they turn out. Cooler heads and some common sense thrown in could have avoided a lot of what has transpired in the past week, but that wasn't to be. Not to worry though, tomorrow is another day.

there was a lot of debate by all staff and admin
this is also not the first time he has been banned
and there are many things and sides to this
