Yesterday morning I woke up to a dark house. I was just about to get up when the lights went out, followed a fraction of a second later by a loud bang.
A few hours later the man from NIPSCO (the power company) arrived and began replacing some blown mega-fuses at several transformer locations.
He found the proximate cause of the problem. It seems one of your relatives got "drunk" on the mulberrys in a tree near my house, and got careless about the power lines around the nearest transformer. His poor body was spotted on the ground just under the transformer...
...so, I offer my condolences on the loss of a treasured (even if unknown) relative.
