Does anyone have a version of mx later than 8? hopefully a recent one? I need a later version to open some .max files.....

Hi Ted,
I have 7 and 9, and like you I've come across the later .max files that they won't touch..grrr!. If you want to view them, you can use the Autocad online viewer, other than that, as you say, you need a later 3dsmax prog.

You can download and install various trial versions, but I bet they won't allow any export. If it/they do allow .dxf file export, I can help with that.

Geez what an idea. So I got a trail version of 3ds max (30 days) and it is fully functional ... beat that? Wish I had the resources to lease it actually will make a 2d texture map plus soo much more. Alas too many hobbies to justify the cost.

Great stuff!

Ha..I agree, I'd like to have a newer version of 3ds, but the 'allowance' only goes so far..;)

Cheers
