Avatars and profile pictures...

Mine is Greg (Pappy) Boyington of the infamous Black Sheep Squadron. He was a bit of a hell raiser but one of the best dog fighters in the Pacific theater.
 
Well I chose mine as the first operational Jet combat fighter in aviation history, the Me-262. I was fascinated about this aircraft since I was a kid growing up in the Bahamas. We used to have some information about German submarines roaming the Bahamas years ago, but never anything concrete about the rest of their technology. This was the first jet aircraft I know of that incorporated the AUTOTHROTTLE into its design. Hence my screen name. I thought this jet was very interesting up until this present day. The fact that even in 1945 it was unable to be caught in a level cruise speed says alot. Given a few extra decades, who knows what the Luftwaffe would have developed?
 
Mine is just one of the AvH Fw190A models from a CFS3 screenshot. Some day I'll have a model as beautiful as SixGhost's for a new one, hopefully.
 
Does anyone else visualize the avatar to be the forum member? Do you remember that thread "What do you look like?" and how no-one looked like their avatar (except for Nigel of course, ... and Owen lol!)?
 
I have always liked the nose art on the WWII planes. I look up as many as I could find. The picture I use is of my state. The nose art is called the Arkansas Traveler which is also one of the oldest News Papers in the state.

Nice thread Nigel, Mine was a P40 as it is one of my all time fav planes but i have had a major hdd death and so i have now changed it to a gmax screenie of an early modeled mossie we only have one mossie scene in gmax now, everything else from the start of my modelling to now has gone ..... forever, was soul destroyed.

Lt. Col. Killgore. One of a kind AirCav Commander. I knew guy's just like this character in Nam. They knew no fear and never seemed to get wounded and they were at their coolest when taking fire. Robert Duval had this character nailed.

A character that represents Finland in a webcomic called SATW - Scandinavia and the world. Check it out, it's suitable for adults.. mostly. :icon_twi: The strip where I picked this one from dealt with the legend of Finnish snipers.. sorta.
 
Mine is one of my favorite profiles of the FW190A-8-R8 of Wilhelm Moritz. I added my handle and my squadron logo to it, to use when the squad flys IL2 FB-1946. Over the years I have done several models of this plane, I just keep coming back to it.

Well . . . my avatar's a shot of me, just a couple of years ago. I forget what I was using before this, but a house visitor saw it and said I should have something that better represents who I am. So this shot's the best I could do within the laws of decency.

mine is the Loire Nieuport 401, aircraft that served during the Battle of France, which has never been to cre CFS3 and I wanted to see CFS3

Mine is the nose painting job from the 1/14 GavCa (Brazilian Fighter Group) based in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, near the south borders of Brazil. During the end of the WWII it was equipped with P-40's I guess and now F5BR (F5M), a brazilian version of the famous Tiger fighter. A replacement is being planned by the SAAB Gripen NG or the Boeing Super-Hornet.

The phrase "Já te atendo, tchê!", represents in the local jargon: "You wait just a minute that I'm coming for you, baby!".
Furthermore you can also see the famous parrod "Zé Carioca" from WWII Disney's cartoon, armed to the teeth, and the constellation "Cruzeiro do Sul" (South Cross) visible in the southern hemisphere skies.
