Avenger Radar

It looks nice. It may be a dumb question but on the Hellcat and the Corsair the radar is also on the right wing, was there a specific reason for that?

I thing, its because of the prop torque ( for example the F4U Corsair start procedings, you have to trim the aircraft right wing down and rudder to the right a bit, before you start, -if I remember correct) so if you mount extra wight at the right wing, you have to trim less.

That makes sense, I didn't think about the torque. There is always something to learn, that's cool. Thanks for the answer :jump:

Wolfi is right.

I have a F4U Corsair and it can be tough to takeoff and land.He already explained about taking off but landing you can't see over the nose because it is so long. This is the reason it took so long for the USN to use it.I think USS Bunker Hill was the only USN Carrier to use them at first. You had to turn which dipped the wing so you could see the deck. They did this on land bases also I think.

Late war they were on the Fleet Carriers.

It's actually one of my favorites to fly.
