AVG Problems

Worthless

SOH-CM-2025
Anyone else having problems with AVG? All of a sudden, AVG doesn't like my CFS2.icd file. It says that the malware virus Win32/heur is present in this file. I don't believe it. Even when I replace the CFS2.icd with a safe backup, I still get the malware warning from AVG.

Remove it and install AVAST. Best freeware program on the market:

OK

Thnaks for the reply. Can I assume you think the problem is more an AVG software conflict and not a malware infestation?

I noticed that earlier this week when I did a fresh install of CFS2 on my main HD. Got the same Win32/heur warning. The cfs2.icd file was right off the CD so I told AVG not to worry about it. :)

Thanks TB. I'm happy for the confirmation. I suspected as much. I pulled backups off a safe file and had the same result. I think AVG must have updated recently and something in the update conflicted with the icd file in CFS2. I approved it too.

Man... My Antivirus program, AVG 2013, is being an A double dollar sign. It won't even let me make cfs2.icd an exception.

With AVG 2013 the ignore won't do the trick, you have go into make an exception and manually put in all the information. At the end add a baclslash and cfs2.icd

I've updated to AVG 2013 too and so far no problems. Whatever is causing your problem must be something different from what afflicted AVG last year.

Dropped AVG years ago - been running Anti-vir for 8 years now with no problems - go Antivir, or Avast for a free program.
