• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Avsim downloads

It is great to see Avsim back on line once again, however, has anyone tried to download anything yet?

I tried to download a file and all I got was the dreaded "Web page unavailable". I tried a couple of other files at random and had the same problem.

Has anyone else tried and had this problem, or do I have a problem with my PC? I can download from other sites.
 
It's not your computer. It looks like they're still having some server problems. Be patient... I'm sure they'll get the bugs worked out soon. :wiggle:
 
Thanks Cactuskid, I assumed, even hoped, it might be some sort of server glitch, but as I have been experiencing software compatibilty issues on my PC (between browsers, ISP and security software), I just wanted to double check before I started another round of growling at some poor s*d at a helpdesk somehere.
 
i did download some files with no problems earlier - last night. I had a try at downloading just now and its not working now. Probably some bugs needing to be ironed out, so will take a bit of time before it stabilises.

I'm so thrilled and pleased for Avsim that the download library is up and running again, so good to have it back.
 
A banner week in FS land. SOH risen from the muck and now Avsim back too ! I can't say enough about the help and enjoyment the folks at both have continually offered. Avsim has always been my go-to place for those hard-to-find sceneries and meshes and SOH for the expertise for how to get the most out of my sim beast. With all the other stuff I find at these places I could fill a small book. Thank you all ladies and gents for all you do in the name of fun, flying, and comraderie.
