AVSIM is back!

YAY

im not really a fan of the other sites out there, i found avsim had a better library for those one of downloads and many of the painters here would also host paints there as well.

fingers crossed that the past events remain in the past, and avsim and here remain un interrupted

Still get no joy from my regular links. The link you posted got me on AVSIM (at least it looks like AVSIM). But the second post at this site refers to TrainZ 2009. Now that gives me the itches.....All programs end with a Z reminding me of a bad link i once clicked...something with wareZ and similar...(virus infested crap)

Hope you forgive me if i don't trust this just jet.

Edit: Just did a Google with AVSIM and my last name (upped some stuff a while ago)....no joy.

This emphasizes my caution in trusting the new link. I'm far to afraid of phishing site's.

I would think the probablility that this site is not really AVSIM is sort of low...

I just finished reading Tom Allensworth's blog where is telling the story of what happened. I can't wait to read the next chapter. Evidently they have some idea of what happened and who did it. There was some speculation that the demise of the AVSIM servers was due to simple equipment failure, and not a hack job at all. Even Tom's first installment seems to make that scenario unlikely, since the entire "purple" server was "wiped" clean. I hope they find the person(s) responsible.

http://www.ts2009.com/ A perfectly legitimate rail simulator, nothing fishy about it. :engel016:

You're probably not getting any results for your name because the library isn't online yet. When that's back, your name and "90%" of the files will exist on the site once more.

I used my regular link and no problem, i admit that "trainZ" thing is a bit weird but that's a legitimate train sim... type the adress manually in your browser's adress tab "http://www.avsim.com"... no phishing for me.:wavey:

Well, that's good news then.

But i usually get suspicious when a site has been hacked and later on i do not get the wished results from a few simple inquiry's.

And i normally do some more firm checks on internet sites (Whois, wayback etc)

You guy's proofed we wrong, which is good news. AVSIM is back online! :applause::applause::applause:

The front page and the forums are back up. the library is not up yet, but soon. Keep reading. The present condition is at the bottom of the front page.

The "Trainz" article is about Just Trains new train simulator. It is legit.

:jump::jump::applause:

Word right now is that the complete FS9 and FSX parts of the library is intact. Great news!!

Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you got till its gone! Great to have it back, found the Duke SP1 update because of the forums, boy did I miss this site, welcome back!
