• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Well as you guys have seen they have a heck of a mess over there as we too are going through the same but they don't have a Ickie over there to fix it. They are asking for donations to help them out. They have a large member base and most of the fliers in here visit and download over there. And yes we also fuss at each other too. I have had the pleasure of meeting there staff in Washington,DC along with Tom in here. Would you guys be interested in starting a fund and sending them the money from SOH members.If you guys want to I will donate the first hundred to get it started.If you guys don't want to mess with this I will understand. You have to look at it this way...all of there downloads are free, so they have a huge server and loads of bandwidth that is also free..Mike

Just place the code from them as a donate button.

{edit}*** Funny how when I pasted the code and put code tags around it it created the button. All I really wanted to do was paste the code from their thread. OH well I removed it as that decision is up to the admins ***{end Edit}

I tried to add it to my Sig but it did not work when I clicked it.

That is why I just placed the link in it.
 
I made my donation already. While SOH/Combatfs is my home site, I have downloaded a lot of files from AVSIM and will do so again once the site is up and running and the library begins to be repopulated.

How does one donate to the SOH lump sum through Pay Pal? Who do you make it out to?

Moe is looking for a consensus to see if that is what the members here want to do. If there is enough interest he will set up an account and publish the instructions. It may be a few days.
 
Hey guys...I'm not saying we need to do this...all I am trying to say if there is enough members interested in going in this direction we can set up a fund. We just got our system up and running by the grace of the support of our members and hard work mainly by Ickie.A Lot of members forked out money to get it to go this high...also we had a thank you fund for Ickie's replacement pooter. I don't want our members to think all we want to do is get money from the members.Our members have gone to no ends to help in here so I can't expect or ask any more.
 
i'll be honest and say that i have to ask the wife if i can contribute.
that said, my heart says it's the right thing to do. for every single one of us has used that library countless times. to not do it is wrong, unless one can't afford it.
 
I still have my severance check due and was planning on a small donation for SOH. If a second fund is started, I'll try to free up a few more dollars for that too.
