I do believe they have been having tons of server problems for the DL page as of late...
 
Our two new tech Guru's are rebuilding the setup of the Library and its function , it was decided that the time had come to get it over with and add all the improved function demanded by the Staff and Users to bring the system up to speed with current demand.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
It’s a very large library and it was decided to take the time needed to restructure it once properly as opposed to incrementally.<o:p></o:p>
We appreciate the patience of everyone concerned with our progress and efforts to build the finest possible repository of Flight Sim files on the Net.<o:p></o:p>

Geez, you don't appreciate something until it's not there do you. Hopefully Avsim will be back sooner rather than later.

Good to hear that someone is finally taking care of the library! :jump:
 
It is accessible, but so far I haven't been able to download anything, so I guess there are still people working on the library.

In a post within the hour Tom Allensworth stated that Avsim will probably go dark tonight, and that it could be down for 24hrs while work is done on the server. Hopefully after that things will be working properly :)
 
eek chuck sounds more of a task then me putting Windows 7 on my computer. win 7 is working great btw.

It seems like they got hacked today, and will be offline for quite some time. I read the info at Alpha India Group, by someone with the name of Jerel.

Update on Avsim! Avsim is destroyed and will be offline for a very long time.

Appears the site was hacked - the whole shabang. I just got an e-mail from Avsim stakeholders. I will know more this upcoming Sunday about damage control.

Hackers should be shot on sight. There's no excuse for such a waste of the world's scarce resources to support such bottom feeders. :a1451:
 
It makes me wonder if it was the same group that hacked them on April 27, 2000.:isadizzy:
 
why the fark would someone hack a free site that always have given a top service and destroy it?:angryfir: its beyond me :banghead:

hacking it and trashing peoples freeware files is really beyond my logic, :banghead: what would someone get out of this little adventure? really? :angryfir:

the loss of this site is going to effect us all in a way, from those rare and one of a kind files that where only hosted at avsim, to
slower downloads due to increased bandwidth on other sites

i just cant get over the stupidity of some farking people:a1451:
