so i think i killed my sgt, 0500 this morning i offered him an Ouzo which he accepted, 0600 and he's fighting for his life, those who know me know my job so i ask for you prayers for him :( i feel responsible...

I'm not sure I understand completely, but I will say a prayer for your Sgt.
Hope everything works out ok~

If it is an allergic reaction to the alcohol I don't see how you can be responsible for something apparently neither he nor you knew. Its not much different from the time I had an allergic reaction to the meds my Dr gave me.

Yeah I ended up in the hospital over it, and then when I told my Dr he almost killed me ... he laughed about it ... to this day everytime I go in for a visit, if there is someone new in the office, he likes to "brag" to them about how he almost killed me.

Anyhow, Your SGT will be alright. Just let him rest and be treated.

:wavey:

Ouzo is pretty strong stuff but unless you drink an entire bottle or go driving after a few I don't see how it could kill you..

my attempt at translating:

Ouzo:is an anise-flavored spirit that is widely consumed in Greece and Cyprus. Its taste is quite similar to arak/raki in the Levant and Turkey, pastis or absinthe (France), Sambuca (Italy), mastika (Chios). It can be consumed neat or mixed with water.

sgt: "scientific graphics package" or "sergeant". I'm guessing the latter.

Like everyone else, I'm going to assume you offered your sergeant an alcoholic drink.

I'm also going to assume that since it was 0500 that you offered him a drink, he was already obliterated and so were you. You can't be held responsible for allergic reactions, but you do look bad if you're offering guys that already can't walk more alcohol. One shot can be the difference between puking everywhere and going to the hospital. Even in that case a hospital visit is small potatoes. They see alcohol poisoning all the time; people don't die from it.

If your Sgt was to pass, while tragic, it wouldn't be your fault.

aye cheers guys, he's fine had to have his system flushed out, i had to have a few X-rays for getting annoyed at myself and hitting a wall, lesson learnt the wall wins every time... thanks for the backup guys
