B-26B Marauder released!

Believe it or not...

...we have the basis to build all Marauders versions: short span, long span, extra-weapon, etc.

Awsome work. I've been hoping for more Marauders especially the early ones. Dad was a Marauder Man (that's him in my avatar) and had some wild stories to tell. I'm going to love flying this. THANKS!:jump:

The long-span is here, the long-span is here!

To all,

Tango_Romeo has uploaded the Martin B-26 Marauder long-spanned version with the taller tail to Simviation. This represents the Martin B-26-55 series, one of the most commonly used in mid-late war Europe. (Post 1943 onward)
The advantage of this model is she's less demanding to control with increased stability.

I'll join this up with the Marauder thread later, I just thought it deserved special attention.

Enjoy!

I've downloaded the trsb26b55.zip, but it tells me it can't find RAF_pilot and RAF_gunner. Can someone help, please?

Installation Error

I've downloaded the trsb26b55.zip, but it tells me it can't find RAF_pilot and RAF_gunner. Can someone help, please?

The crew figures and weapons are included in the download. The unzipped trsb26b55 folder contains several subfolders...Aircraft, Scene_DP and SceneDB...and some of these too contain subfolders. Open each one of these and make sure that you place all of the files in the corresponding folders/subfolders of your CFS2 main directory. That should solve your issues.

That's what I thought. They both appear in the Objects_DP, and SceneDB\weapons\scenery includes raf_figures.bgl, but there's nothing in SceneDB\weapons\texture that looks close other than an raf.bmp mae west and jacket and a P2.bmp head

Nothing Wrong

There is nothing wrong with the download that I can see. The RAF_Pilot and RAF_Gunner are part of raf_figures.bgl, and the textures are correct. You must have something in the wrong place, or you just need to shutdown the computer and reboot. Sometimes the libraries just need to rebuild before recognizing a new item.

No good, I'm afraid. A different version has the same five files I mention, and all of them are where I say they are - Objects_DP and SceneDB, with the downloaded equivalents dropped into the main CFS2 folder. A reboot didn't help.

D, copy/paste these to the bottom of your mdlnames.txt:

"raf_pilot"=British pilot
"raf_gunner"=British rear gunner

***********************************************

And these to the end of your descript.dat:

# Raf_gunner
Add-on gunner for planes (CFS2 object)

# raf_pilot
Add-on pilot for pilotless planes (CFS2 object)

***********************************************

Delete the filelist.dat in your SceneDB\weapons\scenery path and boot the sim.

Thanks Bearcat, but still no luck. I've checked and raf_figures is in the new filelist.dat.

Braveheart - does your post mean you are having the same trouble?

I think I´ve solved the mystery of the missing crew figures:

I put the Marauders into two of my cfs2 installs, and in the newer one got the message that the gunner was missing (only the gunner, the pilot was there)

I looked trough my archive and found several files containing RAF figures. The "raf_figures" BGL and the two DPs "raf_pilot" and "raf_gunner" are from different packages and therefore don´t work together.

The pilot is from a file called "spitpak1". From this package you need the BGL file "weapons_spitfire", which goes into the scenedb - weapons - scenery directory.

The RAF gunner came with a zip-file called "gunner", it contains the DP and a BGL also named "gunner".

I had both packages in the older install, but only the spitpak in the newer one, therefore the gunner didn´t show while the pilot did...

If you install these two BGLs together with the DPs in the B-26 package, your crewmen will be there.

Unfortunately I don´t remember where I found these two files, I only know that the original spitpak was done by Martin Wright and Cryingtoto.

I hope some other members can point out where these files are available for download.

Hope this helps a little!
