B-58 Hustler screensohts published

Because we don't need anymore ddoubles.

And besides, I'm sure this will be very nice.

Marek Rys model was my inspiration when I saw it on Military-Meshes.com years ago. I'm awaiting the FSX version to continue my work with the new skills I have acquired to do one like Mr. Rys version.

I've inquired about this at Milviz some time ago about a FSX version. A complex model indeed as stated in the email (Colin), to do for FSX, well at that level done in those pics. On that note I'm looking forward to Centryseries B-58! ;)

The detailing in your screenshots is outstanding Tufun:salute:!! Like others, I can't wait to get my hands on this especially since the basic external skins still fit!!

Thanks Dave! Hmm... basic skin still fits! Thought I would take a gander at the Hustler, just a short flight. Knowing what I know now, totally would redo it in 2k or 4k skins.

I got to see the real Hustler fly in the late 60's. My dad was stationed at Bunker Hill AFB, now Grissom AFB.

Beautiful screenies TuFun!

It is sort of a shame that B-58 had so short operational life. Pretty unkown for larger audiences nowadays (interested in it myself just a couple of years ago myself). Also, there are very few, almost non existent, books written about this record breaking and magnificent aircraft. Jeez, four F-104 engines bolted in one airframe, how cool is that? B-58 is like B-1B, F-102 and F-104 bolted together :wiggle:

My dad took me to the hangars to look a the Hustler, plus went in the shop where they kept the escape capsules. When Grissom AFB had there open house, two B-58's were flown. Man those beast were loud!

Just a quick post to say how thrilled I am to this lovely delta shaping up ...

I've been out flogging my old AS FS9 model ported over to FSX a fair bit of late ... wondering

1) approx how long 'till the native G.H model comes along - if a fair while, then i'm thinking of springing for the updated G.H. FS9 model, in which case
2) fair to assume it ports over just as well as the original FS9 model, formerly sold by AS?

If the improvement from the old AS FS9 model to the newer GH FS9 model is worth it, and the new FSX native model is going to be a while, then I'll happily invest in the newer G.H. model ...

thanks,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Personally I would hold out for the FSX native version. My Fs9 version is the same as the Alphasim version from years ago just rebranded after I left Alphasim/Virtavia. The new native FSX model has many refinements and a much better cockpit and higher level of detail.

As for timescale, definitely soon, just got to do paints and finishing touches to the VC and of course the variations, TB-58, prototype etc.
regards,

David.

That's great news, and a very honest answer - much appreciated. Glad the T is coming - rather like that version with the extra windows down the side. Will there be a non-TCP configuration (no pod, for the uninitiated)? My favourite scheme on your old FS9 version is Luis Costa de Pereira's 55-0665 with the orange dayglo panels. Even if the actual "Snoopy" nose isn't modelled as an option, hoping this scheme materialises....

Very eagerly awaiting this bird - my favourite USAF jet bomber hands down.

Regards,

Daniel

It's possible to drop the pods which in turn decreases the pod fuel load just like the old version.

To save space on all your aircraft loading screens there will be fewer models, but in the VC there is a pod selector switch, which in the case of this model changes the pod configuration.

Will have a look at the scheme you mention, no promises though.

Brilliant - load configuration, droppable TCP with the corresponding performance "smarts" - all great news.

Thanks for the update,

DL

I'm really looking forward to this. The Alphasim one was a favourite in FS9, so a native FSX version is very welcome indeed.

Okay, so here's some exclusive to SOH screenshots of the forthcoming native FSX Hustler.

Remember these are work in progress shots.

Yep, looks promising but now no "silver of alu" effect, just looks like light grey repaint, but for sure, its w WIP project.

the screenshots were taken in an evening sky and its not quite possible to see the silver reflective effect. Although its hard to tell its got 2048 textures specular map and reflectivity.

Its getting there.
