• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Back from trip. Computer working, but.....

Back from trip to my friend's place up in Union City, TN. My computer is working again, in that I am able to access all my drives again. Only problem that remains is one I've never been able to resolve: that being with my Vista hard drive plugged in, I am not able to access my XP drives. Once I unplug it, no problem. For now, however, I'll be happy with things as they are. At least I am back up and running.

I did, however, have to order a replacement sound card. My soundblaster X-Fi card has a bad microphone output jack, and that is a must-have for me with multiplayer flying. Fortunately, I found one reasonably priced at Creative. I don't trust Ebay trading anymore.

I love NewEgg.. But I also like Ebay.. Just have to look at their credit ratings and see if they are reliable..

I have also bought a lot from Tigerdirect. But their tech advisors aren't too great. Newegg is rated highly, but the bast....s charge state tax for TN. For that reason alone, I rarely ever buy from them.

I plan to make another trip, hopefully soon. I don't have any friends here where I live. Almost everyone I stay in contact with is either on this forum, or on gmail. My friend up in Union City almost moved back to this area, but it didn't happen. I will let you know when I head back up there.
