Hello,

With dad coming home today, and the fact that I got caught up on ETO testing last night means that I'll be able to start working on missions again this weekend. :jump:

I started working on the 486th mission to Bremen this morning, and so far the results are what you'd expect in that I'm expanding it, throwing in Ettico's EuroTargets, random chance elements, and another flight of escorts.

I don't know how many missions I'll get done this weekend, but I do think I'll at least get a handful of missions done.

I'm happy to be doing this again, I didn't want to get rusty!

I do cherish every moment, but again, it's just so nice being back on the horse again. A split formation over Bremen...December, 1943.

_486_Col_Wolf in his campaign constructed a mission based on the legend of Y-29. I am enhancing it now, and stumbled across this...

You can bet I'll utilize this to create a blow-by-blow, and I will use the forty Fw-190s and twenty-four Bf-109s, just as in real-life.

"objective_string"=On January 1st, 1945, German forces launched a major offensive in the Ardennes, the same forests where they punched into France almost five years earlier. The legend of Y-29 was born on that day when P-51s of the 487th, along with P-47s flying cover, turned the tables on a formation of German Fw-190s and Bf-109s which were about to attack Asch aerodrome, known as Y-29. P-47s forming up to search for armor threw off the enemy's timing, and the P-51s, led by John Meyer, were able to take off & join the fray, and over a thirty-minute dogfight, twenty-two enemy fighters were brought down with only three Mustangs damaged.
"intelligence_string"=If your takeoff is uneventful, relieve the P-47s and fly a short patrol around Y-29. keeping an eye out for anything that looks suspicious. Luftwaffe fighters or bombers could come from virtually any direction or height, so DO NOT get fixated in one direction! If you do encounter German formations, rip into them and take down as many as you can!

What buildings are you using for Berlin.
With a little help I/ We can remodel the Berlin buildings like gsl london to show the damage textures or damage and damage textures.
Like to start a design team up.

Its a story worth repeating. This one always makes me wonder what the Pearl Harbor attack would have been like had the Army and Naval forces based there been better prepared and on alert. Of all the History Channel's Dogfights series, this episode is my favorite.

The only thing over Berlin at the moment are Ettico's Daimler-Benz EuroTarget, and Tempelhof aerodrome.

Hello,

The mission is done. If anyone wants to give her a whirl and provide feedback, let me know. I threw in a few juicy features to make it as realistic as possible. First, you wait with engines turning on the runway for a bit, waiting for orders to take off. Don't jump the gun too early!

Second, I used the actual pilot names for the P-47s and the Mustangs, so don't save the mission in MB if you want to keep them. (You fly at Lt. Col. John C. Meyer)

Lastly, the second flight of P-51s take off in the middle of the melee, so it's 64 against eight until you scramble, 64 against fourteen when you take them on, and then 64 against twenty when all three American flights are in the air.

In short, it's a "target-rich" environment of Bf-109g, Bf-109k, and Fw-190a fighters. Have fun!

Hello again,

The mission pace has begun to pick up, I've gotten most of the fighter sweeps done, it's the bomber missions that are taking a lot of time to do. I also finally created an airfile for the FDG "Razorback" Thunderbolt that I can tolerate. It's performance is just about right, and it "feels" like a Jug.

I'll keep plugging away, I'll try to get a beta test package together this weekend.
