Backing up CFS 3 Expansion on DVD

I want to backup my newly installed ETO expansion. Since it is more than 4.7 GB, should I use a DL DVD in order that the files not get separated on two separate DVDs or is that even possible??

FYI I set all my backups to an external USB HD drive, it's cheap and works well.
 
I just zipped the whole ETO-folder and stored it on an external HD. I'm not sure, but I think the ZIP sould also fit on a DVD.

I do not do too much file transfers. I do have and external drive, but I wanted the flight sims on a disk. The zip file for CFS 3 ETO Expansion was a little less than 3GB so it now is on a DVD!
 
I backed up my OFF install and when I reformatted I installed OFF from backup and the sim game me an error message and wouldn't load. Haven't tried ETO so not sure if files got corrupted upon saving.
 
I think OFF is a different thing, as it uses files outside the OFF - folder

I did an install on a second computer using my ETO - ZIP-file I made. Everything was functioning as it should...

I wish I knew that before as I tried to re-install OFF but the external HD that I had Phase 2 on doesn't seem to be seen by my comp. I'd buy Phase 3 but Phase 2 was pushing my machine as it is that 3 my be too much for it to handle.
