Bad news...and some good news

Good afternoon,

I am sorry to have to inform you that after weeks of hanging on for dear life, the fan on my video card has died. The GPU temp on my video card shot up to 85 degrees centigrade, which is not the ideal temp for a PC. As such, I will keep my desktop off until the new card arrives, hopefully this weekend.

My video card was a NVIDIA 7300 GT AGP 512 MB.

I spoke to a local computer repair shop about my card, they agreed with my cost-benefit analysis that for the money I'd be spending to fix the card, it would be just as well to upgrade, so...

This will be my new baby, luckily I have a 400 Watt power supply, according to Dirty I lucked out there.

And to Dirtman....thank you for the advice! :salute:

The other bad news...

Oh yeah...

I forgot to mention that this will probably mean the delay of the Junkers Ju-52 release until after Christmas...unless I can keep track on Skype, which is dicey on the laptop.

Good morning,

Because I have to buy computer equipment occasionally for my job and get reimbursed, I have an account with Dell that a $40 credit on it. So I used the credit to get overnight shipping, so the card will be here today.

I uninstalled the NVIDIA controls, as well as the drivers, so that will be one mistake I don't have to worry about.
