• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Band of Brothers is less one today...Dick Winters passes.........

Oh this news saddens me so. Mr. Winters, rest in peace, sir. Your service to this country was beyond honorable.

You are a hero in every respect.

Rest in peace, mister Winters. Your deeds and those of your company will always be remembered.
You may not thought of yourselves as heroes, but to those living in desperation under the Nazi regime, you were indeed a hero and a symbol of hope for a better future.

:salute:

Damn thats a loss.... may you never be forgotten sir, lets remember, this guy wrote the rule book on assaulting a dug in artillery position, such a great man.

One of a great many and like many of them, would not want to be thought of as a hero. The best you can say of any man is that he did a good job and he certainly did that. His work was immortalised in print and on film. I also thank the unsung majority who did a great job but will never be remembered. He represents them also, as were his wishes.

"He wanted people to understand that success in war depends not on heroics but on bonding, character, getting the job done and “hanging tough,” his lifelong motto."

Lots to be learned from that one statement alone.

RIP Sir.

God Bless Captain Winters. Thank you and your brothers for your service.

May you find eternal peace now.

He was a Major, Crash. RIP, Major. You now have peace and can once again walk with your many brothers from yesterday.

Don :salute:
