Bangor International Airport

Good evening,

Bangor International was formerly shared with a former Air Force Reserve base, it is on the "Great Circle Route" from Europe, being the first suitable airfield accessible in the Northeastern U.S., and it has a runway of over 11,500 feet. That makes it ideally suited for emergency situations.

you could land some pretty serious stuff on a runway that long.

for example, that's 293 cubs if my math is right :icon_lol:

Try walking around the airport perimeter sometime. Did that back in 03 at the airshow. Loooong walk from the only parking place I could find to the air guard base entrance. Bangor is still home to the Maine Air National Guard's KC-135's.
