Barrel of Fun! (vid)

Great to see the old AH Grumman flying again! It was first released for Fs2002 and still looks good today. I seem to recall an issue with the vc platter that is invisible in 2002/2004 but causes some parts of the model not to display.

Couple of old pics from my archive...

Paul, Maybe I've changed my mind and vote for a FSX version of the Barrel. That would be very "Ducky" :icon_lol:

Well you have your chance to vote again. The F3F is in the finalist vote off. See the voting thread.

That is a nice little aircraft model and the vid is great as always TuFun. Anyone know who the modeler was?

TuFun - you are an old school campaigner my friend...

Too bad there isn't a decent Noorduyn in the FS archives to pull up in response lol...

ah well - even if the plucky Grumman makes the cut, I'm still happy, the F3F-2 Barrel is a most important airplane historically - and definitely would keep the painters happy for months

This early Grumman carrier borne fighter from AH is a dark horse and for me at least is both a looker and great hand flyer in FSX. I had the good luck to be introduced to Leroy Grumman when I was a boy and he joked about how fine handling the F3F was such that you need only lean left or right in the seat and she would turn left and right. Glad to see this one resurrected.

So glad to see revived interest in this wonderful tubby fighter. Impressive paints available from Caz Dalton at fligthsim. Took off from NAS Quonset and floated her onto the deck of CV-6. Wonderful. Before the war started and they had to get serious about camo, the organization of the paint schemes and different combination of vibrant colors on each plane (ditto for the first Wildcats) was truly exceptional.

Think I will try my hand at "7-F-7" . .
