Battle of Britain

You are right Pat. Just started in the BoB campaign and am loving it. Haven't tried a campaign in years and don't know why. I do like single missions but the campaign mode is better to me and more immersive in CFS3. I like a dynamic sim and CFS3 is hard to beat in this regard.Looking forward to the updated CFS3-BoB install. Have several BoB sims and Pat's my favorite one. Ordered BoB II - WOV and will test it asap.

Maybe when Hobbit gets to doing better he could work on this era in either ETO or Pat's BoB installs.Let's hope for the best.

I plan to do both BOB (Clive's set up) And ETO 1.50 missions for BOB era, I have many missions from the BOB timeline to release, once I get my desktop reloaded with CFS3 and they will be of the large formation format, to reflect the proper numbers faced during this epic air battle over Britain.

Great news Hobbit!! Pat's BoB is my single most favorite combat flight sim there is. Compact but complete in scope (playing the pre-release updated version). Just in need of some missions. Recently started a campaign for it and find it totally immersive . Play this sim more than any other. Thanks to all involved in the BoB project. Great job!! Best Regards,Scott p.s. Looking forward to the BoB addon for CFS2.Never too many for me !

Sixstrings,

Progress report...the custom Liverpool scenery is getting close to finished. This was thrown in as an under-the-wire addition. Once that is finished, I just have to make a couple of mission adjustments to adapt to the new scenery, and then I'll release it.

Sixstrings,

I've alluded to this a few times, but this is why I'm holding off on release of BoB. This is nearly finished, and what we're waiting for.

Thanx for the screenies, Rami...

Your work is really amazing... makes me wanna give CFS2 a go.

Yeah, lad you're a machine!! :dizzy:

Popsaka,

Can't take sole credit on this one...this has been a collaborative effort; our gang of five has been working on this for some time!

Good morning,

I did a final check of the GSL scenery this morning. As soon as Robert John is done modelling and painting Speke Hall, it will be included and BoB will be uploaded.

Good news about,to me,the most interesting part of WWII. Can't have enough sims that cover this part of WWII. The only thing lacking is the CFS1 scenery. Got spoiled by the newer sims in this regard . Still looks good enough for my old eyes. Can't wait for Pat's CFS3-BoB updated also.Have Just Flights CFS3-BoB(no longer available). Just got Battle of Britain II WoV and it's fantastic once updated. Also have the BoB in two Il-2 '46 installs.Enjoy them all. Thanks to all for the work done to bring us joy. Like this better than my music . My number one hobby now is combat flight sims. I'm hooked for good !! Regards,Scott

Gosd,

Unfortunately, in no way I can think of. I basically updated this thread for Sixstrings. I released The Balkans Project in 2016, and HouseHobbit at that time was going to take the mission descriptions and contents and make a CFS3 version. Anyone in CFS3 has license from myself and other members of the CFS2 BoB Team to make a CFS3 equivalent. I have tried CFS3's mission builder, but that's one area where CFS2 has got the drop on any other WWII-era sim I've flown.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear...:wiggle:

I've been working on my series of BoB missions for ETO, but with real life and other stuff getting in the way, I haven't had much time to really do anything on them. I'll try to do some work on them this weekend.

Hi grover1,

Have you had a look at Wulfman's ruff_bob_raf_pack.zip which is in the Missions downloads here at SOH? There is plenty of inspiration there, with over 80 BoB era missions. I don't recall if they were ever ported over to ETO compliance. The mission pack is dated August 2004. He also did some interesting variants with Italian aircraft representing unusual sorties and What if scenarios.

If Wulfman were to give permission to bring the missions up to ETO 1.50 standard, that would be a quick entree to providing a goodly volume of Bob missions for someone who is strapped for time!

In one of many old archived installs I have a version of the Bob pack, which I modified to work on an early version of ETO and would save even more time. Just PM me if you have any interest and I'll dig them up.

Hey Daiwilletti, what about adapting the missions for Pat's BoB expansion for CFS3 that he is working on. Would be nice with the added features His new updated work. May be work together on the missions with the Master Hobbit if and when he has time. Would be the best thing since peanut butter if this would happen. Think the Master Hobbit is working on some missions BoB hopefully when he feels better. Hope things get better for Owen.Sorely missed...
