CFS2 Battle of Britain question?

Does anyone know about the BoB being worked on for CFS2 ? Will it be a addon or will it make a separate install ? Going to install CFS2 just for this when available. Been away from CFS2 for many years but this has my attention. Run Win7 64 bit. Use to play a lot and added many mods to CFS2 back in the day and this will rekindle the joy it once brought to me.Maybe will have multiple installs.........Oh no,here it starts again...........

CFS1 to CFS2 is meant as totally separate install of CFS2. While most of CFS1 to CFS2 four parts has most of the required things. Users will need to follow Rami's ETO installation guide.zip for the basic ground scenery.

Sixstrings,

Hi! Yes, I'm working on it. I've worked on this on-and-off for about three years. The two packages I released several years ago left a lot to be desired, because they were manual installers and took a long time to assemble.

So yes, it will be an auto-installer set to run on the ETO scenery base. Simply point it at your install and the .exe file will do the rest. All you'll need to do then is make a few minor adjustments, and then you're fit-to-fly. :jump:

This new version is virtually all-inclusive...objects, weapons, aircraft, sound packs, UIRES screens, airfields, etc. I completely redid and augmented the GSL scenery for 74 locations throughout France, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and England.

The campaigns and missions are identical to the older model except they have been modified to use the new scenery, and in some cases, newer aircraft. However, there will also be an expansion of the German bomber campaign from 30 to 41 missions, and it will be split into two parts. There will also be an additional Hurricane intercept mission, and a couple of new Hornchurch squadron missions.

All of the missions are hand-edited to allow for each plane within a formation to have a different level of skill...from training flights under an experienced leader to 'experten' flights, or mixed units.

Depending on how things shake out, I may be able to include the Chianti Raiders / Corpo Aereo Italiano package in this. If I can, there will be 274 missions in the package. If not, it will be 237 missions.

I'm going to try and get a beta-testing version out to a few souls by the end of February.

Wow! Clearly a labor of love for you Rami. We all get to enyou the work you put out; really looking forward to this.

Thank you,

msfossey

Sixstrings,

Just make sure you lay down the ETO Rhumba / Sander scenery base. You'll need it for the coastlines and the Thames River / Estuary.

Also, I'm i to hand-editing the German missions now, the British missions are all set. Beta testing may be in at little as several days, but I'll let you know when I have it ready. :very_drunk:

Sixstrings,

The new install. You should go through the ETO install guide and get the scenery set up first, it will help tremendously.

Sixstrings and others,

I am pretty much ready to send out a beta testing pack. I'm just waiting to see if Captain Kurt can help me with the contact points on the I4_br20, and then am waiting for UncleTgt, Kdriver, and Robert John to do some Liverpool mods for the final two missions. Then I can release it publicly.

In the interim, if you would like a beta-testing pack, (which is an auto-installer, of course) respond to this thread and I will send you a PM when I have it ready. I'm pretty sure it will be this weekend.

Sixstrings,

Progress report...the custom Liverpool scenery is getting close to finished. This was thrown in as an under-the-wire addition. Once that is finished, I just have to make a couple of mission adjustments to adapt to the new scenery, and then I'll release it.

Rami, my friend,

I'm now ultimating the revamp of WD Breda65, but i've also planned to do damaged models and dps - Some is already finished - of my buildings and churches, plus some rural villages that fit both Germany and northern France... do you believe they could be useful??

I'll get you informed when they're finished...

P.S. i know this is a project dating from a long time, but it's also on the finish line.

Ciao,

Giuseppe

Gius,

There's going to be a lot of custom scenery for the United Kingdom in this package. However, I still have the Battle of France well back in the pipeline, so let's plan for using that scenery (some of your 0.5 ETO buildings already are) for the Battle of France.

Okay Rami, in the meanwhile i'm ulteriorily developing my scenery objects.

In order to use them as targets.

Best wishes,

Gius

Sixstrings,

I've alluded to this a few times, but this is why I'm holding off on release of BoB. This is nearly finished, and what we're waiting for.
