Beaufighter progress...

OBIO, you forgot about the trigger....:woot:

Bismarck

Not sure I will be able to fly with that VC...but I am totally sure I will be able to crash with it LOL.

Looks good! Has the basic flight gauges, windows to look out of, a seat to sit in, and a steering wheel to make the plane go where you want it to go. What more do you need in a vc?

.dp is being a bit of a headache. GC rockets have covered 25 and 60 lb variants, as for the 90lb I'm trying other sources of 60lbers as we all know different models of the same weapon can look very different. I'm playing with carriers as the GC 4 usually used with the rockets can't cope with the dihedral of the Beau's wings

The largest droptank we have is the stock Japanese 600litre. Is the actual capacity set in the airfile, as this certainly looks the part.

I'm getting there though:faint:

Hewman100,

One possibility could be the "wep_internal_tank" found in the Junkers Ju-88. It's actually 1,220 liters, but why not?

What about the Gryphon aviation drop tanks and rockets?

Getting closer...this is truly an outstanding job!

Hewman100,

While doing the .dp file, do you think you can use Martin Wright's RAF_gunner / pilot to add a gunner to the rear gun position?

Sure is . . .

A little alteration to nother Morton Scheme and . . .

Bismarck13,

You gotta be more careful. If people start drooling too much, they're going to short out their keyboards and joysticks! :caked:

I was thinking of taking the pilot out too.

I have been doing this on most of my aircraft lately, it saves lots of polys.

I have plenty of gunner figures from old aircraft I could put in but I am really wracking up lots of extra polys by adding those Dave Eckert engines and stuff . . . .

Bismarck13,

Actually, the polys aren't too bad. If you just "paint out" the pilot you don't have to do any model editing. The Martin Wright RAF pilot and gunners get added to the .dp file, it has nothing to do with the model.

I did a side-by-side with Bruno's Spitfire Mk. Vb trop for comparison. Conisdering your is a twin, you've done damn good!

Hey Rami. Whats that tool your using? I've never seen it.

Wufl190,

Aircraft Container Manager. It's not available anymore, but you can do some pretty nice things with it. You can look at individual texture files, look at effects, electrical systems, weights, lights, fuel, contact points, that kind of stuff.

It's great for people who like to play with their toys. As you can also see, that upper right-hand box tells you the model size and where or not it's multi-lod.

Kelti,

.....Would you like me to send you a copy so that you can work on prop textures?

By all means Rami,

if it's not a huge file that I can download it without crashing my phone line, I'll be happy to do it!

My modem can handle and e-mail attachment up to 2 Mb's.

I am working on Bismarck's TU-2 right now. Prop textures are ready, but I am using Thicko's Il-2 VVS rockets instead of the stock USAAF ones.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

Dps are coming along, I've sent the first drafts into the bosses.

Adding crew shouldn't be difficult Rami, but it will mean the prob I mentioned in the e-mail about mountpoints will have to be addressed. The internal tank will be added today along with them.

Kelti,

Right now it's about 5.5 megs, but I could cut out the panel bitmaps and send you a link for them, that will help some.

I am making some different versions. This is a MkIF nightfighter with radar apparatus . .

Does anyone know of any more freeware paint schemes for the Alphasim Beau? They are easy to convert for use on this aircraft. I definitely need some more paint jobs as I have a few different Mks of Beaufighter in the works.

Bismarck13,
There were some repaints for the ALPHA Beau by Stalin. I'll dig find them in my hangar and post some screen shots if you want them.

Could we please get a volunteer who can create an accurate airfile? The .dp file has been covered by Hewman100.

If I'm not mistaken there are 1% Beaufighter airfiles at Netwings, although I don't know if they'd cover the marks you're constructing, and they tend to have poor AI performance. Still, it's an option. Count me as a drooler.

Good on yer Bis! So glad to see a NF version. :applause:

Strange as it might seem your's is the first aerial fitted NF Beau to be produced for CFS2 or Fs2004!

Cheers Shessi
