Beaus in the Sand and other updates released!

Good morning,

I have to leave early for work this morning, so I was only able to upload The Balkans Project. When I get a chance later today, I will upload Beaus in the Sand (the first Click Team aircraft folder .exe file was 260MB-plus, so I'll have to chop it between single and multi-engined .exe files) and Western Desert - 1942 with the new aircraft included.

Sit tight, there is more to come!

Good afternoon,

I have uploaded all of the updates for the Western Desert, Malta Spitfire, and Operation Pedestal here at SOH. I will do Beaus in the Sand after my eye appointment. :icon_eek:

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: Welcome to the Beaus in the Sand campaign package! This package follows a fictional Beaufighter squadron around & across the Mediterranean theatre during a twenty-nine month campaign. Beginning in Eastern Libya, you follow the general flow of events in the theatre, from defending Malta, Alexandria, and attacking convoys to defending the Tunisian and Algerian ports during the spring of 1943. As operations "Husky" & "Avalanche" are launched, you operate out of Sicily, lending support to their efforts and to interfere with the evacuation of Corsica by Axis forces. As 1944 continues, you end up staging through Sicily again on your way to Corsica, where you both raid Axis shipping & lend support to "Dragoon," the Allied invasion of Southern France, before moving again over to Eastern Italy, where you end the campaign attacking shipping in the northern reaches of the Adriatic Sea.

Welcome to the Beaus in the Sand campaign package! In this first aircraft package, you’ll find all of the single-engined aircraft, gauges, & weapons required for this campaign. All of the required aircraft have been included, as well as any historical repaints that would have been used during or near the period between early 1942 and late 1944 as the major events in the Mediterranean occurred. Those whose work has been included in this first package include the Alphasim freeware team, Dbolt, Graham, (VB planes) Morton, the Groundcrew team, Brunosk, Martin Wright, Paul Rebuffat, Captain Kurt, Aeroplane Heaven, the Donationware team, UncleTgt, Simonu, Lawdog2360, Misson, Buddha13, Kelticheart, Gary Morrow, Mission, Buddah13, the old IS4G team, Cobrauk, DauntlessDriver546, RobH, Sopwith Chameleon, Sky Unlimited, AER_DaddyO, Watchdog22, Marc Siegel, and Mike Hambly.

All of the aircraft in this package have been modified, when necessary, to include the appropriate repaints, when possible, for the aircraft. I've also included modified .dp files for each aircraft which correct information in the [MISC.DATA] section that I found to be in error. To lessen issues with frame rates with many waves of aircraft in the sky, all exhaust effects have been removed, if they were included in the original models.

Additionally, all weapons required for the aircraft have been included.

Enjoy!

Didn't make it

I tried to get your Balkan project, and also this but cannot get it. I get this strange message: You do not have sufficient download allowances available at the moment.

Allowances: 200 files/15 used, 2.00 Gbytes/1.99 Gbytes used, 10.00 Gbytes uploads/0 bytes uploaded. I should add, that this is the second day I try, as I got the message yesterday, but when trying this morning, it was the same. Do we have a server problem?

Finn,

Nope. It just means you hit the user download ceiling. It resets every 24 hours. By 5:30am, I should have all of my new updates uploaded to my box.net site. If you click on the "campaigns" link in my signature, you should be able to download it from there until your bandwith limit resets.

Update: Finn, everything is uploaded on that site for you and others if you run into this issue.

Way to go Rami. I still have the original test missions loaded on a separate Med install from way back when. Looks like I have a lot of updating to do on that install plus a brand new one for the Balkans. :very_drunk:

Killer Svend,

Thanks, I will include those this morning. I appreciate both you, Stoney, and highpockets letting me know these things! :untroubled:

Hi Rami,

Great work as always. I am going to have to start a second Mediterranean install now to fit everything in! I've only flown a couple of missions so far but they are really good. Thanks again.

Dick,

I love the Beaufighter myself, and Bismarck13's set are fantastic...not just in looks, but aircraft performance and more importantly, AI performance. Hewman100 did a wonderful job helping Bismarck13 with the AI modelling. It's also always nice to fly a British campaign outside of the Battle of Britain! :applause:

Wonderful addition to the resources and very well designed and historically accurate. thank you so much for the continuing maginifcent ccontributions!

Good evening,

I fixed both Operation Pedestal & Mezzagosto and Malta Spitfire with help from Captain Kurt. And since I was doing that, I also took the liberty of updating the Tuskegee Airmen campaign, Parts II and III by Devildog73 to include the newer Dornier Do24 T3 by Shessi. :biggrin-new:
